There are two things which could cause this.
First, if there is insufficient air flow, and second would be if one of the coils on the gas valve open up as it warms (as current flows through it). If you have good air flow out the outside exhaust with this problem, replace the gas valve. (coils are not available individually, even though you can swap out the coils from the old and new valve without physically changing the entire valve)

Kenmore propane dryer 70 series does not lite

Hi,
Assuming the gas is on. The most likely problem is a bad ignitor. Remove the bottom front panel(pop 2 clips at the top of lower panel with a flat screwdriver) and turn the dryer on Look for the ignitor to glow. If the ignitor does not glow test leads to ignitor for power if you have power replace it. If the ignitor glows then you are not getting gas check to make sure the gas supply is on.
I hope this helps if you need further assistance please let me know.

Kenmore 700 series gas dryer .runs but no heat

There are several things that can cause this problem. It could be a defective hot surface igniter, inop thermostat, bad gas solenoid valves ect. You will first need to check and see if the hot surface igniter is coming on. You can verify this by turning on the dryer and then watching for the hot surface igniter to start glowing from the burner inspection hole at the bottom of the dryer(or remove the front/back panel if no window). It should glow very bright. Then after it is glowing to it's brightest point you should then hear a click(the sound of the gas valve solenoid opening) and the burner should come on. There are two gas valves in the system as a safety so you could have one valve that is bad. When the gas valves are charged they should be magnetized on the top of the valves. You can also give these valves a light tap to see if they are sticking. The gas valve solenoids and bad igniter are the most common cause of inop gas dryers. It could also be a bad thermostat or high limit cut off switch is open. Take a look at the dryer and let me know what you find. Also be careful doing any work on your dryer without the proper tools and knowledge. You could hurt yourself from electrical shock or explosion if you are not careful.

Not getting hot. vent line is free of lint. Maytag Atlantis/gas

Chances are the hot surface glow igniter is not working. Most likely it is burned out. Set the controls to dry in high heat and note if the glowing coil does in fact glow. If not, it needs to be replaced. Open the burner access door and then turn the dryer on. Watch inside the burner compartment for the glow coil to light up and glow. If all the controls are set correctly on the front control panel and the dryer is running, but the glow coil fails to glow, you've located the defective part. The glow coil will need to be replaced.
To remove the coil, turn off the gas first. Unplug the dryer from the electrical wall plug. Then remove the entire gas valve as an assembly. The nut on the gas valve to remove it from the gas supply pipe turns counter clockwise. There will be small sheet metal screws used to secure the plate to which the burner assembly parts are attached. The plate holds the entire assembly and is attached to the bottom of the dryer's cabinet.
Next, remove the glow coil from the burner assembly. Take the entire assembled part to the local appliance retail parts store for a replacement coil. Glow igniters are fragile and they break easily. Handle and install the new igniter carefully. Glow igniters are a non-returnable and non-refundable electric component.
Be advised that some new replacement igniters do not come with quick disconnect ends. In this case, it is OK to cut off the quick, disconnect from the old igniter and attach it to the new igniter. Simply clip off the wires several inches above, disconnect the old igniter, attach to the wires of the new igniter, and wire nut the two ends together. Repeat the process to attach the other set of wires and wire nut them together. There is no positive nor negative polarity to be concerned with.
Additional Suggestions: Read the manufacturer's online Web site for product information, problem possibilities, causes and solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair procedures, instructions, pictorials and schematics, which may be available online.

My gas dryer, LDG512, only burns gas for 8 secs, then shuts off for 90 secs then heats for 8 secs. Continuouscycle. I replaced High Temp thermostatic, checked vents - no obstruction. Taking +1 hr to dry...

Hi

First check and see if you have 110 volts coming to the gas valve at this type of a connector. If you have voltage, then unplug the dryer and check the parts I have pointed to. Some dryers have 3 coils instead of the 2 shown here. If you do not have voltage coming to the burner, then you will need to check the timer contacts that feed the gas burner, hi limit thermostat, operating thermostats, the safety switch on the motor, and any other point that you can see on your wiring diagram picture that feeds voltage to the burner. The coils on the gas valve are very bad for working once or twice and then quitting. If you find an open circuit on one of the gas coils, replace them all = less problems later on. If the glow coil does not work (get red), check it with an ohm meter for continuity. The next thing to check if the glow coil does not come on would be the radiant sensor. Inspect the igniter for small burnt spot on dark gray or black part of igniter or check for 110 volts to igniter wire plug when dryer should be calling for heat. Sometimes the ( older style ) igniter is separate from the holder and the holder can no longer hold the igniter tight enough and the two parts burn/arc where they touch each other = new igniter and holder ( some manufactures have new kits to replace these older style parts ).
If the igniter gets red and stays red, or you hear a click and it goes off, then a minute later its gets red again then possibly have a bad set of coil valves. If the igniter gets red and stays red constantly then it’s the flame switch that is bad and maybe welded closed.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Glow plug lights but does not fire gas everything

This is most likely faulty gas valve coils. These electrical coils are located just above the gas valves and when energized, these solenoids open the gas valves and permit the burner to light. If faulty, the gas valves cannot open and the burner cannot light. Due to the difficulty in testing these solenoids, it is recommended that both (all) be replaced at once if any are suspected of being faulty. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Sears kenmore gas dryer 417.92052101does not stay lit.

Watch the burner assembly, shortly after starting the dryer the ignitor should begin to glow. If it glows for several seconds (up to 15 seconds) and then goes out, then the problem is probably the solenoids (coils). If the ignitor glows and stays on, then the problem is usually the flame sensor.

You ignitor is working and sensor is working because it will fire up. so those pesky coils are intermittant because they get hot and quit cool off and work some more . replace them

Dryer won't stay hot

Possible problem is the gas coils sticking. You can verify this if you turn on the dryer and are able to see the igniter glow orange and shut off without a flame in the burner funnel.

Check the exhaust to see if it is clogged. If not, you may need a pair of gas valve coils (not very hard.)
Replace the coils if you see the ignitor glow and shut off, without the gas valve opening up.
