Question about Sony Handycam HDR-HC3 HDV Digital Camcorder
Hello FixYa's! Bertman here; Nicetameetcha! My HC3 is sickly - I bumped it on wood (not even hard) and the front shutters came loose and just "flop around". When I turn on the camera, I can hear the motors trying to open the shutters, then it tells me I can't record because "Lens cover not fully open. Turn power off then on." This of course does nothing to fix it - the shutters are mechanically disengaged from the motor that opens them. The unit is otherwise working perfectly. I want to open it myself if I knew how to unscrew the front and get the shutters reconnected. (It seems the "jumped the track" and just need to be re-set.) What say ye? Thanks! - Bert :o)
Well, replacement of the shutter unit (lens barrier)instead of the repair seems more realistic... Please contact your nearest Sony Service for the price estimate. If you need more info please advice. Arpi
