Got to the acer website and download the driver for the wireless network adapter, if you have any disks you may already have it. You of course will have to use another computer or a differetn connection, all you need is the driver, heck use a friends computer if you have to and save it to a portable drive or something.

Connect pc to tv

you can connect it to a modern flat panel via the vga port but you won't get 1080p resolution.I would suggest upgrading sound card and go for the fastest network possible for streaming wifi i'd suggest 802.11n (although 802.11b can stream with minimal network traffic).gigabit is ideal for high definition streaming. If you decide to upgrade acer makes a nice small pc the ax1200 perfect size for a nedia center though no wifi has hdmi dvd burner for less than $400 comes with 20"monitor.

How to setup network adaptor

Hi there,

Technically you should provide 'IP Address" to your network card. Generally IP address is provided by the ISP (Internet Service Provider) provider you are using.

Once you get the ip address you can configure it by right clicking on the my network>properties>TCP/IP setting.

This will work.

SONY VAIO VGN-NR21Z DOESN'T SEE WIFI

Be sure that your wifi button is ON
Be sure that your wireless network is working
Check your wireless router settings
Check if you see any other wireless network available on your computer

Test connection, see if you pulled an IP address
  1. Go to the Windows desktop
  2. Select Start then Run
  3. In the text box type: cmd (WIN98/SE type command)
At the command prompt type: ipconfig
4. What does it read as the IP address?
* If it reads 192.168. something dot something then you are pulling
an IP address and are connected to the network. The problem is
software related, check your firewall, and wireless card configuration.
Also check any WPA or WEP encryption keys. Check with the respective
manufactures.
* If it reads 0.0.0.0 for the IP address you are not connected to the network.
* Check your connection configuration and the adaptor.
* Check with the respective manufactures.

STEP TWO/ Basic troubleshooting continued....Testing the adaptor

1. Go to Windows desktop
2. Select Start then Run
3. In the text box type: cmd (WIN98/SE type command)
A DOS window will open.
4. At the prompt type: ping 127.0.0.1 (reserved IP address for all adaptors)
5. Check the line that reads "packets sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0

A. Zero is good, the adaptor is working. Again check the connection
configuration,and the adaptor configuration.
It may be a power issue especially with older or less expensive computers
or wireless cards.
* Check the antenna location, are you inside or outside, look for interference.
* Check with the respective manufactures.

B. If it reads all 4 packets lost, the adaptor is not functioning.
* Check and update the drivers, Contact the respective manufactures.
* If it shows any number of packets lost (you are dropping packets)
it is an adaptor or signal strength issue (generally form the laptop side,
not being able to reach back) especially with older or less expensive
computers or wireless cards.
* Update the drivers
* Check antenna location, or distance from the signal
* Contact the respective manufactures.

I have an acer aspire 5715z/5315 ihave lost my wireless conection how do i switch my wireless on and off i carnt seem to find the butten

Without knowing the operating system I can tell you this much: go to Control Panel>Network Connections>Local Area Connection>Properties then view the adaptor configuration settings to see if Radio On/Off is a selectable option. Many laptops do not have a physical on/off switch.

Need to add a wirless code to laptop so it will geta wirless signal

For wireless connection you need a wireless adaptor in your laptop. Most of the laptop comes with wireless adaptor. If you have one then go to control panel--> network connection--> right click on wireless connection and view available networks in your area.

Please note : If you see a lock sign in front of a network it means that network is secured and you cant access it without password.

Please mail me if you need any other help or if something is not clear in my answer

My new acer works fine but there is something loading in the middle of the screen and i cant get rid of it .... how ?

these are system set up routines, when you first boot up Acer laptops they configure themselves, then reboot about 4 times, to load all the drivers and pre installed software, but if its taking too long (hours) then you need to speak to Acer technical, see below for tel no.s
