Concaved distorted picture in 1080 Mitsubishi 65" TV.

Recently we hooked up a DVR and High Definition cable box. Now there is a distortion where the picture is distorted and bows inward from the top and bottom. The image is also stretched at times. Sometimes, it also has lines going thru the image. It happens with regular tv, a DVD, etc.

I have the same issue; a concaved distortion of my picture. Even when the screen is filled, it is distorted in all the corners. There are 'spectral' colors, I think red, yellow, and ... maybe blue. It used to come on and then disappear after a few minutes. But, now it's on almost all the time. We are weighing the option of repair versus buying a new unit.

This is a convergence rpoblem that is either bad connections on the pins of the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder and are comfortable working inside TVs where there are potentially dangerous high voltages, let me know and I'll provide additional details and instructions for fixing this yourself.

I have this same issue on my 65" WS-65907, first it would snap into a "bow" with all 3 colors exposed on the edges, then it would flip back to normal. now it's stuck like this, I would love to know what the fix is, and comfortable around the inside of the tv.

LED TV takes 7-13 mins to display a picture when hooked up to cable DVR box, when hooked up w/ out DVR Does Not do that???

I would suggest you verify your cabling. Are you using HDMI cables? Connect a HDMI cable from the TV HDMI 1 to the Cable DVR Box, In the TV setup ,select HDMI 1 as source. If your Cable box does not have HDMI contact the provider for a updated box. With out the Make, Model of Box, Cable? Sat? Make, Model of TV. I don't know the connections?

High Definition--WS-55807

IF the MITS has 3 component inputs blue red yellow RCA jacks on the back then yes at 480 or 720p, you'll need to attach 2 audio cables for sound. If it has a HDMI input then absolutely.

I cant get high def 1080-i to work on my mitsubishi 55807

IYou have to have your comcast box tuned to a channel that is broadcast in HD. On your Comcast remote hit menu. This will bring up several icons, one is HD. Select that icon and it will bring up the TV Guide for just HD channels. Select one and tune to that channel. Once your on that channel use your original remote and hit menu, then advance features, then go down to video display and change it from 480 to 980 or 1080. Let me know if this helps.

Picture distorted

Hello buddylaw,

Can you post a picture of the TV screen with the problem? It will help in the diagnoses. It looks like you may have a thermal sensitive component causing this issue. But I will have to seen a picture of the screen to properly diagnose this problem as to the possible section that may be causing this problem.

Thank you.

Bowlike effect convergence all screwwed up

I suspect you originally had an intermittent solder connection on the convergence circuit board. This may have damaged the convergence IC's on that board by now if repairing those connections doesn't fix the set.
