We have a Sato 480e that prints shipping tickets. It will not print now because it says "Paper End" when there is plenty of paper. I've cleaned the rollers, and changed the paper roll. What else can I try?

Check the alignment of the sensor.
If continuous, make sure dip switches are set to continuous.
There are particular settings for a die sut, and continuous label

I've been printing postcards for like five years now. And based on my experience, the best way to go about that is to print postcards using sturdy cardboard stocks coated on both sides for a high-gloss surface. This medium is best for shipping and for advertising purposes.
Make sure to clean all the rollers you can see and make sure to check the paper sensor, and clean all rollers and paper paths with some Isopropyl Alcohol (AKA rubbing alcohol)

Your platen roller (the black rubber roller) isn't smooth in that spot. Maybe it has be nicked or cut there or has something stuck onto it. If it's cut you will have to replace it, otherwise try cleaning it with high percentage isopropyl alcohol.
