Scanner does't work

Yes, the scanner program is telling you the next step and that is to uninstall the software and the device and to reinstall it by using the installation CD.

You most likely have ONLY installed the Printer side of the software... you ALSO need to install the "Scanner" part too. Go to the web site and get the FULL version for your software.

The scan options are on your computer, you need to have HP scanning software running to tell the scanner how to scan the document where to send it and how to save it. No options means the scanned image would have nowhere to go.

ou need clean install . disconnect scanner remove all software in the add/remove area and go to device manger and remove scanner form list. then install software first,rebot, before installing scanner.should work then and for technical support contact us at http://tinyurl.com/mtgjzz

.reload the drivers and software that came with the scanner.....this should fix ur issue

delete the norton internet security as its blocking the scanner files of your printer software .or try reloading the printer drivers again but if reloading the printer drivers does not helps then removing the norton software is compulsary as the files of printer are getting blocked so scanner is not working.

I need to find the scanning software for hp 7310. It use to work, I had to reload everything and now I cannot get it to work

I get the same thing when I try to scan but there is a work-around: Get a memory card and stick it in one of those many card slots on the right front of the printer. Then when you hit "scan to", it will prompt you to scan to the memory card. My printer is configured wireless so I am assuming that the scanner just doesn't work with that. Also, I'll bet if you can figure out how to get the file sharing option to work on the printer (it used to work for me but I have been to lazy to re-configure), I am sure you scanner will start working again.

reload your driver that came with the printer,be sure to go to properties and select shared.Although the print and scan functions use the same network cable they have diferent IP addresses and the driver software assighs the IP for scan funtion.
