I dropped my camera, and the lens wont close. When i turn it on, the screens blurry. It sounds like its trying to focus, and then it shuts off. I just want to know if its fixable??? Or should i just buy...

Focusing mechanism might be either broken and jumped out of its place
1) Take a screwdriver and open it yourself (it's not that complicated, as soon as you don't lose any parts; just try to remember where every part lies in).
2) When after opening the case you still don't understand how the focusing mechanism functions try to place battery inside, switch it on and then you'll see what exactly is blocking the focuser from moving back and forth.
3) Either place the focusing mechanism back correctly or if something is broken that you can fix with a SuperGlue - do it.
P.S. I once had the same problem after dropping my photo camera (Canon PowerShot G7), but the focusing mechanism was broken so had to go the mechanic to replace it. Mechanic normally wouldn't object that you have already disassembled the camera - less work for him.

Focus error on camera wont take pictures wont put

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Camera won't focus

Hi,

Check whether you have a proper lighting in the rom, try to use the camera in outdor and check whether the autofocus is working..

Also check whether the camera setting is set right, if the camera is set to MACRO mode and if you focus distance object it wont get focuses..

Even if the setting is right and the camera is not focssing then you have take it to sevice center to service it..

Please leave me comment, if you need further assistance

Unfortunately dropping this model, and the f40, 45, 47 fd models, is suicidal for the camera. The lens has an inner slide ring which other models do not have and this ring has three lugs to keep the lens from spinning when powered up and used. Unfortunately these lugs are also clips which hold the focus lens inplace. These are tiny. hard to repair

Canon Rebel Xti Wont autofocus

I dropped my camera and thought the autofocus broke. It turn out that it swithed from autofocus to manual focus. There's a switch on the lens. Check if that's your problem too.

First, check if you haven't set the camera for MACRO shoots, if so, only objects very near the lenses are focused. If is not the case you may have drop it and the lens got out of alignment.

Focusing wont work after dropping

probably the lens inside is damaged or the mechanism which moves the lens is damaged. Focus works with a moving mechanism which moves the lens back and forth.
