Sears does carry it and I also found it at Partstore.com. The company that is repairing my TV claims it cannot be found online and the TV can't be repaired.

Toshiba 65h82 has sound but no picture, what are likely causes?

Most likely you have a high voltage failure. This TV has 3 CRTs that are driven by high voltage. If one tube fails it shuts them all down. If the HV circuit has failed it may be time for a new TV

On start up the picture is very fuzzy, accompanied by vertical lines. After 5 plus minutes the picture improves and line mostly disappear. Not getting better and taking more time to clear. Ideas?

Yes, the model indicated has what is called a "HYPER BOARD"; this is a very common failure in most of their sets.

This board processes all signal from all inputs and what fails are there are a number of tiny surface mounted capacitors on the board that from heat and age dry out and fail- a cap that is down in value when hot will try to recover.

The board is no longer available from Toshiba, the only way to correct it is either send it out for rebuild/repair to a company like PTS Electronics or some shops will attempt the repair of the board in the set.

The last time I did this PTS wanted about two hundred dollars for the rebuild/repair.

The problem is even if rebuilt in four or five years the caps will dry out and fail again.

As the caps go down in value it will take longer and longer for the lines to go away.

I have seen about thirty of these sets with this problem.

Please feel free to comment here or if you have questions post a comment here.

I am here to help.

I have a 57 in toshiba rear projection, picture just started jumping and went out, if you put it on another imput for gaming the picture is there but is rounded and is jumpy could you tell me what is wrong...

Possibly not repairable, because many problems are related to a board called the "hyper" board, which is mostly no longer available.-- Most picture problems other than convergence or a bad tube, which doesn't sound like yours.

The picture is very fuzzy for the first 5-10 minutes of turning the tv on - after that the picture clears up.

These sets had some problems with what is called the Hyper Board. It processes all signal inside the set from all the inputs.

Usually if it is the problem there will be lines and or noise in the picture for several minutes. AS time goes on the period for it to clear up will get longer and longer.

What causes this is this board has a number of surface mounted filter caps that dry out and go bad--caps that are going tend to operate better after they get warm--there are numerous notes about this on the Toshiba Technical site.

The boards are usually soldered in and NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM TOSHIBA--only two choices--someone needs to remove the board and replace about 10 surface mounted caps--most caps in sets are soldered on the bottom of the board (mounted on top and each has two leads that go thru the board) but these are tiny and have little tabs and are soldered to the TOP of the board.

Replacing them is not a job for a do it yourself person unless you have a lot of skill. The other option is there is a company called PTS Electronics (you can find them via the internet) who will if the board is shipped to them repair/rebuild the board for this problem--it is not cheap--I checked a site in the LA area and it costs about 220 plus S&H.

I have had three people here I helped with this problem who had the time and skill and did it themselves. Total parts cost for them was under 30 dollars. All three either were good at soldering or knew someone who with direction could do it.

Sooner or later the problem will take longer and longer to go away and at some point it will not go away as enough of the caps totally fail.

Toshiba 50H82 has wavy lines in screen for about

this is a very common problem in a lot of Toshiba sets of this type----bad caps(filter capacitors) on the "Hyper" board---it processes all signals in the set---it will start out where it clears up after warmup and as time goes by it will take longer and longer to clear up----the board is no longer available and the only way to repair is remove the one in the set and send it out for rebuild---most of the time this costs 3-4 hundred parts and labor(not worth doing)

Turn signals wont turn off

This could be a loose connection, or the signal timer relay has gone out.
