TV turns on then cutts off

I have a Toshiba 46HM95 46 in. HDTV Television and I turn it on and I can hear a very light buzzing sound and the screen comes on for five seconds and then goes out and the buzzing goes way and the green light flashes three times and goes out then the red flashes in sets of three. I have removed the rear panel and watched to see what happens and the bulb comes at the same time buzzing startson and light gets brighter. then bulb goes out and so does buzzing. Can some one please help. I have a volt ohm meter if some one can talk me through it.

That buzzing is the high end power trying to turn the lamp on.... the electrical current and shock is what turn your lamp on your tv which is what the buzzing is dont worry thats normal...however your solution is buy a new lamp for your tv but make sure its the right serial number for lamp u cant just buy any lamp. best place to buy one ebay.... as in the lamp still trying to light up its only because the electrical current going into the lamp and then cutting off causing the red light on your tv....so other words all it is is the lamp... CAUTION!!!! those lamps get up to 400 degrees unplug tv to ensure no electrical current.... hope i helped.... JACOB WINKLER

SOURCE: I have a Toshiba 52HMX94 rear projection T.V.,

Hi,
Your TV requires ballast power supply board that gives you buzzing noise when TV turns ON.
Ballast supply board is available in Part Store and replacement of that board requires expertise.

My sony won't turn on. when I use the remote to turn on it flashes green six times, I hear a click and then it flashes red six time.

six times means the thermal fuse on top of the lamp tripped. Replace it and give it a good cleaning and it should work.

Hi. I have a 2004 52' Flat screen projection TV. For the past couple months, we have turned on our TV and all we hear is sound, but no picture comes up. We thought the bulb was having problems. We ordered...

The buzzing is the ballast arc gap, normal sound. When the tv starts does the lamp start to come on. Can you see any light from the back? Sounds like bad ballast. Unfortunatly this part is no longer available. the light engine will have to be removed and sent to Toshiba to be rebuilt.

Tv won't turn on red lights blinking

You are hearing the spark gap mounted on the lamp ballast board. If you can hear that sound, that means everything in the lamp driver circuit is working except the lamp!

Get a new lamp.

Toshiba 52HM84 DLP TV with new bulb but the lights keep blinking

They exact way the lights blink are telling you what the failure is. If the tv is firing the lamp and the lamp is bad, you will hear a buzz sound for about 1 second. The tv tries 8 times before it gives up and spits out the lamp error. Check the user manual for led diagnostics. If you put in a new lamp but still have issues, you've likely got a bad ballast (most common on this model) or colorwheel (less common). Both are part of the optical block (light engine) and I don't believe they're available as individual components from toshiba.

Toshiba 52hm84 DLP buzzing sound after replace bulb?? no pic

You have bad capacitors in the power supply that took out the regulator, or the ballast circuit is defective. Not really a repair for the novice. Good Luck
