Question about Avanquest System Suite 8: Windows
I have been a user of Avanquest System Suite for years, having bought each new version as it has appeared.
Recently I bought System Suite 9, and installed it (after uninstalling System Suite 8) on my dektop computer, which runs on Windows XP.
After re-starting my computer, I received the message that my minimum virtual memory was too low and that Windows would have to resize (or something like that) my page file. It took ages to do this, and every other application was slowed down (and remained slowed down) to an incredible extent. Furthermore, I was unable to get on to the Internet until I had made an expensive call to the Tiscali helpline, and I was told that the problem of low memory must be due to my anti-virus / firewall, i.e. System Suite 9.
I also tried installing the program on a new laptop which I have just bought and I discovered that the installation had taken up 81% of the space on my hard disk! Has anyone else had similar problems, and does anyone know a solution? Is the installation DVD that was sold to me defectiv?
I'm guessing that before you installed this software you had a lot of space on your hardrive.
Have you opted to perform a \recovery backup' or 'system restore', or something like that during the install? If so this may explain why it is taking up all this room.
What this would do is make a copy of everything on you computer into a backup file, effectively greatly reducing your available space.
