4g are you referring to mobile data on a mobile phone network. Richard ?
Setup what are you trying to setup a USB Dongle or are you connecting via a mobile phone ?
Or are you using a 4g mobile data wi fi modem hooked into each device via wi fi ?
what operating system is on your laptop ?
find wi fi driver for your d257 use serial number or model number. You may need to open cover on bottom of laptop to see which rf board is being used in your laptop as I found a aod257 but it had three possible wi fi drivers . but aod257 may not be your model number.

Well you have formatted the system, so you need to install the Wi-Fi driver in order to access the Wi-Fi.
ou must be having the driver CD, If you dot have just download the wi-fi driver from internet and install it on your Laptop and re-start the laptop and you will be able to access the Wi-Fi again.
You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model laptop, better still type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop. Goto - Control Panel - System - Device Manager - Network Adaptors. It will list any network device installed. Right click the wireless device then click properties.This will then tell you if it is working properly and if the driver needs updating. Also it will tell you if the device has been disabled or not,if so just enable it
