Dimplex dakota heater is working but flame effect is not its led I think not bulbs.

All our Optiflame and Opti-myst fires can be operated on a flame-effect only setting, as can the flickering flame effect on our freestanding bar fires.

Is the flame effect expensive to run?
No, to run the flame effect involves powering light bulbs and a small electric motor and in most cases costs no more than a couple of pence an hour. Some of our fires have LED lamps fitted which are even more energy efficient.

Some have bulbs, some have LED.
Example calculations:
Using UK standard average price of electricity of 14p/kWh (source: Energy Saving Trust Feb 2015)

Pilot flame seems too high. How can I adjust and how tall should flame be?


The pilot flame should be a firm blue color impinging directly on the thermocouple enough to turn it red hot after a few minutes. Generally, the pilot flame need not go past the thermocouple more than a 1/4 - 3/8" and should not be a lazy yellow color. As far as adjustment to the pilot flame, it depends on the heater brand you have. Look at the gas control for a small adjustment screw near where the silver pilot tubing connects from it (it connects to the pilot assembly on the other end). Adjusting it counter-clockwise will lower the flame size, if necessary. If the pilot has a lazy yellow flame, the pilot orifice may just be dirty. With the pilot flame off, use a can of compressed air (with attached straw) to blow out any debris/dust from inside the pilot assemble where the orifice is. Good luck.

I have a pool heater RP 2100 you set the temperature it calls for the spark -then there's usually a poof and the flame icon comes on, and the heater heats up. Now set temperature, Calls for heat -the spark...


make three attempts to get heater running. most electronic ignition heaters will lock out after 3-4 times. after it locks out error codes should present themselves.....such as ignition failure, prs, etc.
ensure proper gas and water pressure. check voltage supplied to your raypack's igniter aswell. if heater fires up then instantly shuts off, then it may be the flame sensor

What size is the orifice? Are you using LPG or CNG? What pressure is the regulator set to?

Will not fire with cover attached


Bend brackit on photo eye so that it gets a better view of the flame. When cover is on the flame will move farther to the end of the heater. You can test this by holding the eye in your hand and pointing it at the flame. I had the same problem. Hope this helps.

Fan on, sparks 3 times, won't run


Shut off the gas to the heater and pull the ignitor out. Turn everything on and push the button in the door opening to get the heater to turn on. Look at the ignitor and see if there is spark across the probes when you hear the clicking. If not, replace the ignitor.

If there is, put the ignitor back in the heater and then look at the valve. The two wires that bring the 115V to the valve need to be pulled and then checked with a meter. Start up the heater again and look for the 115VAC when the ignitor starts sparking. If you see it, replace the valve. If not, replace the control board.

Can not adjust air pressure to keep it running!!


Provided the rotor and vanes are serviceable the pump should produce around 10 psi if you completely close off the airline tubing. If your gauge will not read with the tubing totally restricted, then I would check the relief valve to see if the ball is in first, then the spring, then the screw with the hole. These items should be in the longer of the 2 bosses. If no pressure reading at this time you either have a broken rotor or a defective gauge.

If you get some pressure with the tubing restricted, but there is not enough, then use soapy water to find the air leak. If there is a crack in the plastic end cover- replace it.

Three bar fire keeps going out


Look at the burners and see if there are any cracks or irregularities. Also the flames should be nice and blue in color, if not, then some new burners may be in your future.

Pilot light seems to high


there may be an adjustment screw for pilot height. you'll have to look at the valve. a pilot should have an inner cone of greenish blue color and the surrounding flame should be a deep blue no yellow or orange tips. the pilot burns pure fuel no air. the main valve does mix air with the gas in order to burn.
