If you have system restore enabled you can restore the system to a point before you installed ie9. It then should be removed. (for info: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore)

If restoring is not an option you can try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737/en

kind regards,

How to uninstall ask browser

Goto Start / configuration screen / remove program and select Ask Toolbar and click remove.
When this works, you still have to change the homepage from your browser in the settings of your browser.
Problem is, there are many different versions, and the newer versions are more difficult to remove.
You can try one of the programs in these links to install your version
1)
Or :
2)
Still no success? then you need a more potent uninstaller, but this one is not for free. You can use it for 30 days, but after that you have to uninstall it or pay for it. You can get it here:
3)
I hope the uninstall worked, with at least one of the options. If not you need more specific help but will be different for every situation.

When the ASK toolbar is removed, your computer is still not as it used to be. You now have to setup your browser with the search engine you like the most.

In IE9 on the top right is the gear wheel. Click there and select manage add-on / search engines
Select your favourite search engine and click on select as standard. When you want you can remove the other ones with Remove.

In Firefox also select manage search engine on the left of the menu.
Select the engine you want and click on the up button till the line is on top.

To make it your favourite or startup home page in;

IE9 in the menu Extra you find the gear wheel. Click there. Then on the tab General click on Start page and type in your favourite.

Firefox On the top left on the orange button Firefox / Options click on general and in the box start page type your favourite.

I have just downloaded IE 10 over IE9 on a windows 7 laptop, how can I get e-mails

Hello Herbert,
Thanks for posting your problem in Fixya. The statement made by you clearly shows that you have upgraded your Internet Explorer browser to a newer and enhanced version. The newer and better browser works in the same way as the older one did. All you need to do to access your email is to sign into your mail provider domain, like, https://mail.google.com/ or https://mail.yahoo.com/ with your credentials, and you are done.

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Mrityunjay.

My ie9 reply slow while open page

Open Internet Options, Manage add ons, in Toolbars and Extentions, Disable/remove ALL Toolbars, in Search Providers disable/remove ALL but Google. Download freeware MALWAREBYTES at : http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install, UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. Run A FULL SCAN, DELETE ALL RESULTS, Reboot. ALSO download CCLEANER freeware at : http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ This will clean the junk from your machine. In the TOOLS section, STARTUP disable ALL unnessary startup programs. this will speedup you startups.

Have just downloaded some essential updates from microsoft. Have now been told my Cannon MP640 wont now print off the web. I thing it was the latest Explorer 9 that did it but not sure. Cheers Robin

If you think IE 9 installation caused the issue then uninstall it and install IE8. IE9 is just barely out of beta stage and I feel might need to be adjusted or refined futher before full production use (my personal opinion). If it does not appeaer in your programs list then you could restore you system to a previous restore point. Check to verify that a restore point was created before IE9 was installed. After rolling your system back and re-installing the previous version you can install the IE9 blocker tool which stops the installation of IE9 through automatic updates. This tool does not prevent a manual installation of the browser, it only prevents the installation through automatic updates. I am currently using the tool on 5 of my personal computers.
I suggest using a virtual environment to test drive new release products to verify that everything works as expected before installing them on your personal computers and especially any work computers.

To uninstall Internet Explorer

The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

  1. Click the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg, type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.

  2. Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.

  3. Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.

  4. Click one of the following:

    • Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).

    • Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer).

Note

After you uninstall Internet Explorer 9 RC, the previously installed version of Internet Explorer will be available on your computer. It is not necessary to reinstall.

Uninstall IE8 and install IE7, the original IE, please.

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Add/Remove Programs
Click Show Updates
Select IE8
Click uninstall
This should "restore" your previous version of IE (6? 7?)

Or, if you're running Vista or 7, see: http://www.microsoft.com/ie9
and install "Internet Explorer 9 beta", i.e., a "pre-release" version of the _next_ version of IE.

Have installed IE9 beta over IE8, but IE 9 beta dont have flash point to play video on 32 bit vista. is it OK to upgrade to IE 10 or can be deleted and install IE 8 or 7

If you installed IE9 beta over IE8 you can roll back to IE8 from Add or remove programs in control pannel. Is better to choose a stable version of any program, not Beta because beta is in teste mode and is not certified that is working with any software and addons.
