It appears a diode came loose from the main board in my television and managed to burn a hole through the board and short the tv out. When I had it still together if I plugged it in I would just get a high pitch whistle. The board is burnt up, there's not question about it. A quarter of it is charred and melted. I've been online looking for a site that sells the parts I need and I'm not having any luck. Could you point me in the right direction please?
Here are some pictures of the damage:

look for the vertical ic at the main board, check for shorted pin or the ic get burned.if the ic get bad you need to check shorted diode near the ic which may the cause why the vertical ic get defective.
did you try the inputs thats on the side? they r kinda hidden. mine r on the left side if you are looking at the tv. i connected my wii to my tv like that and now it cuts off all the time.. didnt start till i put the wii in but now it does it all the time.
I looked up this model and found the following electolytic capacitors to be the most likely culprits within the pincushion circuit. Check these first. The starred one is the one I have replaced in the past to resolve this.
I am sorry that its took so long for me to reply been backed up in shop, anyway what you have is bad solder joints on large Diodes Resolder ends on all of them and this should slove your problem if you havent done so by now.
My set just recently went throgh the same problem. I found a bad connection on the power board and a burned diode as well. I repaired the conneciton but have had no luck getting the specs on the burned diode. RCA has been no help.
As for cost of repair, on serviceman quoted $50 just to come take a look.
whenever fuse blows every time it is the indication of short circuit in tv.
so please do not put fuse unless you know the cause of blowing fuse.
these are the reasons of blowing fuse.
1 main filter cap.short.
2 rectifier diode short.
3 swithing transistor short
4 horizontal output transistor short
5 caps & diodes connected to flyback transformer short.
6 print short.
7 at last if every thing ok then flyback transformer defective.
hope this will help.
if you are not a tech person call skilled tech to fix it.
That is a linearity coil not a diode. The coild can be replaced on its own and possibly the board patched up as long as you know where the burned traces go to. The only other way to get the board fixed since RCA never sold main board is go to http://www.ptscorp.com/ and contact them on rebuilding the board. You wil have to ship it to them and once they are done they will ship it back. It probably isn't worh the cost though.
