I have the same exact problem. We found a temporary solution is to give the TV a "love tap" on the on the back beneath where it says "SONY." My guess is something is loose in the back. Make sure you don't hit the TV too hard and try different spots if one isn't working.

Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.

14 times means the LCD panel is defective. I just had one of those tvs in my shop. Sony will take care of the panel replacement in warranty.

Thats usually caused by bad flex tab bonds on the LCD panel itself. If you search for flex tab issues vidoes it will show how the pisture can get slow motion in areass as well as double images in that area.

1) I have a Sony KV-32FS13 that has a green tint in the picture. Does any oneknow how to access the service menu for this model? I tried other adjustments and I can't get rid of the annoying green...

Code 5 is "AKB error". AKB, or auto kine bias, is a cicuit that monitors the three color guns of the picture tube (red, green and blue) and tries to adjust them for proper color balance. If it can't, the picture is blanked (usually) and the timer/standby light blinks 5 times. When the color drives aren't balanced, you see a color tint in the picture like you're describing.

There might be a problem in the AKB circuit, or the picture tube may just be old enough that the AKB circuit has run out of adjustment range. If the tube is at fault, you should consider replacing the set. A new tube will cost nearly as much as a new 32-inch LCD TV, and you'll need to pay someone to install it and set it up. There are special tools required to perform the convergence which gets the color guns aligned with the face of the tube so they hit the right colors.

If you'd like to try tinkering with the service menu adjustments, this site explains how to access the menu and gives a list of settings.

The tv is at least 17 years old.The blinking red light blinks 5 times ,then the tv picture goes off . The voice is still on

Five blinks is the error code for an AKB (auto kine bias) error. What this means is that the set isn't able to balance the three color guns (red, green and blue) of the picture tube properly, and it's blanking out the screen.

To get the proper colors, the signals for the three colors need to be balanced, and Sony sets have circuitry to do this automatically. Other brands don't, and when they go out of balance you see a picture that starts to show tinting or colors that are off. As the picture tube ages, it gets harder to adjust the balance until finally the AKB circuit can't anymore, and poof, the picture goes away. With a 17-year-old tube, it's not surprising.

There isn't anything that can be done to fix the picture tube, it would need to be replaced. But the cost of the tube and the work required to get it set up after installation makes it completely uneconomical to repair this TV. A new picture tube is nearly $200. Then special tools are required to set the tube up (a process called convergence), so you'd need to find someone to put it in, and possibly pay to have the old one disposed of. A new 32-inch LCD set is around $350 now. Treat yourself to a new one.

Green tint to picture.

Are you using the componant connection on your tv? If so, check the red, blue and green cable connections on both ends. They carry your
picture info to the tv. The audio is carried by a red and white cable. There should be 5 cables for a componant connection. 2 reds, 1 white, 1 blue and 1 green. I hope I have guessed your problem correctly and this helps you.

Slow picture and dark reddish tint

These sounds like you have an issue with main board or tcon. Picture slow makes me think this is a communication issue between the tcon and the main board.... This needs a professional diagnostic. The good news is i don't think it is the panel which would make the cost of repair beyond the cost of the tv. If it is in warranty or just out of warranty call sony, sometimes if it is just out of sony's 1 year warranty they will make exceptions. But you need to call them for this exception.
Some solutions are not cut and dried and an on-site diagnostic is best. In your case this is true. I have worked on sony for many years and that symptom (at least the way it is described) is not one I have seen.

Color changed suddenly, no red, just green/yellow/blue

Sounds like the color wheel has gone bad and needs to be replaced. This is located behind the back panel.
