GREY AREA ACROSS TOP OF MY HP 65' DLP PLEASE HELP

I HAVE NOTICED A GREY TRANSPARENT BAR ACROSS THE TOP OF MY HP DLP. IT WASN'T THAT WIDE AT FIRST, BUT AS TIME HAS GONE ON IT IS GETTING WIDER. DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT MIGHT BE AND IS IT COST EFFECTIVE TO FIX IT. THANKS DAN I have the exact same problem. My tv is a Toshiba 50in rear projection DLP. I was told its the "light optic tunnel" . I have not fixed the problem as i was also told that the cost is around $300. Plus labor.

My brother had the same problem and had the sending tube or its a round tube that projects the image to the screen. He had it repaired in home for $465.00. Ouch!

Black bar on dlp tv.how do I fix this?

Sounds like a connection problem between board and DLP chip. The BGA connection which connects the DLP chip to the board, or the flex connector may be bad, causing the row and column section to not activate the micro-mirrors on the DLP chip. Not an easy fix. Regards.

My HP LJ 4 is printing Grey roller type marks. Not diagonal it's like a rectangle across the the width of the paper about 1 1/2 wide then a space about 1/4 then the Grey again. Any help would be gr

Sounds like dirty rollers or perhaps a bad print cartridge. If you have another ctg to replace try it first if lines are still there check the rollers inside the machine where the paper is fed. Use the sheet to match where the marks are to the rollers on the machine. When you find them clean with alcohol and let dry then try again. there are also paper feed tires that are inside the paper tray that could be dirty also.

Hope this helps

I have had a Sony KF-WS60S1 rear projection TV for some 3 years and recently had to replace the globe. I completed this as per the book, double checking all screws were tight and the globe inserted...

You will need to pull out the engine and check for any smudge on the lens. then proceed with the polarizers 3 of them they are sitting in front of the DLP chips, this is a delicates operation. the blue polarizer is the one which usually suffers burn-in (dark spots on the glass). if everything looks ok, then it means that the dlp chips are faulty, at that stage it will be uneconomical to be fixed.

Hope this helps!

Hello.

I have made some posts on Fixya today, because my buddy and I fixed our rear projection tv in minutes and wanted to encourage others to do the same. Same thing happened to us and we went on line to find our it is the bulb. It wont just go at once but will radically degrade. Just go to dlp lamp replacement and they will get you a new one and walk you through it over the phone if need be.
