Question about Compaq Presario Notebook
After running 1-2 hrs
There may be a number of reasons for this. Maybe it is getting overheated. Is it so? Is it heating up more than it used to before?
It may be because that part has been overclocked. It is a way to get more performance out of a component, to void its warranty, to heat it up and even to reduce its life. Had anyone else been using it?
Maybe you have installed parts that are compatible to previous ones but still like to have wars in there. Some part may be too strong while the other one is too weak. Do you have very less RAM and a really hardcore CPU?
Also, it may be just that the vents are blocked out by dust and they are trapping in the heat. Clean them all with soft brushes, cotton swabs or compressed air cans. Vacuum cleaners may not be advisable here and certainly not on keyboards.
Another thing you can try if you are an advanced user is to remove most of the lids and carefully clean all the vents and the parts. The dust may be causing heat to stay in and even build up rapidly. I recently opened up the hard drive case from my HP Tablet PC and even popped out the keyboard. There was a hell lot of dust there, though the PC is just about an year old.
If you don't do any of this and fix it, it may worsen your experience and ultimately force you to buy a new computer entirely. If all these problems persist, I recommend strongly that you visit an authorized doctor and have it fixed at the earliest.
