No power to wii console after a storm

I'm wondering if the problem is in the console, or maybe just in the box on the cord. Either way, is there a way to fix it without buying a new console?

A common occurence with the Wii is that the power supply will go bad. I would not be surprised if this happened to you. Try buying or borrowing another power supply from someone and tryin that out.

I just want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to whom ever said to unplug for 10 minutes because it WORKED ~!~ Now I have to take it back to my daughter's room and plug it back in, holding my breath and saying a prayer while crossing my fingers might be how I do it lol. Thanks again

Your problem might be that your cables aren't hooked up right or that the circuit board in the wii got fried. Try unpluging it for 24 hours then plug it back in and try using it.

Wii wont turn on, nothing had a lightning storm last night and now nothing

Try replacing the power cable, many times when there is a power surge and you do not have a surge protector it will burn out the transformer on the power cord. If you replace it and still nothing, most likely your Wii has been burned out by a power surge.

Cannot power on the WII. I have unplugged the WII, plugged into another outlet. Unplugged power cords and plugged into another outlet and it still will not power on. Bought it for christmas last year and...

Sounds like it might of short circuited. Send it into Nintendo for repair. Make sure to use a circuit board switch to avoid any electrical over charges in case of loss of power or storms.

We had a storm and now the wii will not even turn on.

Was the Wii running while the storm was going on? Was it a lightning storm? If the answer is yes to eaither one of these then most likely there was a power surge and the power supply and / or motherboard has been damaged

Wii won't power up

Leave the wii power brick unplugged from the wall socket for 15 min then try to plug it back in. This worked for me.

My Wii will not power on

Have you tried using someone else's Wii power cord? The power outage may have fried the power cord. If you try a new power cord and it still doesn't work, then it seems like the only thing you are able to do is to send it in for repairs. When you try and use a different power cord, borrow a friend's if possible instead of buying a new one, just in case.
