Question about Digital Cameras

1 Answer

My 4 GB memory card seems to have gone bad. I've used it for months and always fine. When using it last night it just went out. If I have it in my camera my camera will not work. If I take it out the camera will come on. I tried putting it directly in the printer slot and it tells me Memory Card Error. Is there ANY WAY to retrieve my pics off of this card??? Thank you, Mamie

It is possible to recover data from flash memory in certain circumstances.  Seagate offers data recovery services for situations like this.  It is however rather expensive I think services start around $1000.

I hope you didn't format the card because that erases the pics forever. You could get a separate card reader and try to download them that way. You could take the card to a store like Walmart and plug the card into one of their picture making machines. When your pics show up, you can print them or even make a cd of them.

This is a special problem and I would direct you to contact fujifilmusa.com directly about this problem with the memory card.

I'm not sure how to retrieve all of the photos that are missing that you took beyond the 60 photos that showed up.

Cant gat my vivitar 5024 to take its card

Your Camera supports a SD Memory Card up to 8 GB. But, its always recommended to use a 1 GB or 2 GB card since higher the capacity, faster will your batteries get drained. And since the 5024 takes in AAA batteries, they will be drained out really quick.

Locate the Memory Card slot. You should find it on the side of the camera just above the Macro/Normal Switch. Now, insert the memory card into the Camera. The Golden lines should be facing downwards and the angled cut part should be the first to enter. Gently push the memory card in and wait for the "Click" sound. An SD symbol should appear on your LCD screen. This shows the Card has been recognized.

Remember to use a memory card with a small capacity as it lets the battery last longer.

Did you format the card in the camera before you tried to use it? Also, go into the menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions.

A 2gb memory card says memory full tried it in

No, that camera works with the 2gb cards just fine. You will want to try to format the card in your computer first, then try it in your camera (format it in the camera before using). If it doesn't format in the computer, it is a bad card.

You problem set your camera to use internal memory only. Set the memory function to memory card only and all pictures will go to the memory card until it is full. You can probably still transfer your pic files from internal memory to your card.

Try taking memory card to someone with a card reader on their computer, if it's going to work then a reader will get it to work. If it doesn't work then reformatting is the least expensive option, unless you take it to Specialists to have it analyzed. If card won't format then it probabaly has gone bad.
