I have mine in german, so i know how to get it back and fourth without looking. here's what you do. hold menu, until you have reached the main menu. scroll all the way down, and up one. that's the settings menu. press the center button to navigate there. scroll all the way down to the bottom again, and up 2. this is the Language menu. press the center button to navigate there. there is a list of languages, English is at the top. press it and your ipod has been set to english.

I have an mp4 digital player, unknown brand, but

Hi dalynch1033, this is a rather cumbersome problem, it seems. Is the language in another alphabet altogether (like Chinese)? Either way, you can try looking for the Settings menu. It should have a recognizable icon, like a toolbox or a spanner or a gear, regardless of the language. Roam around in that menu to see if you can change the settings to English.
Othewise, take it to a service center. If all else fails, there should be a button or a pinhole marked "reset" that you can press to revert to the factory settings (doing this probably would NOT delete the data in the player, but this depends on the brand).
Hope this helps.

My new ipod nano is in foreign language and i cant get it back to english

First you need to restore it, plug your iPod into your computer and open up iTunes. Select your iPod in the list to the left, then click the "Restore" button located under the big picture of your iPod model, restoring will take a few minutes. Once it's done, your iPod will probably have forgotten the foreign language setting, so it will ask you to choose a language. Choose the language that you wish to use your iPod in. If this doesn't work, then you should visit this page for which buttons to press to get your iPod back to the language you want.
Hope this helps!

I have an ipod. Somehow I went to the menu and changed the language. Can you assist me in changing it back to English?

I have the same ipod, so i know where you are coming from. First go to settings. After you reach settings, the first thing in that menu will be "about". scroll down until you reach "language", press the center button, and the first language should be english!:) i used my ipod to figure it out, it is right here on my desk!

I chnaged the language by mistake and I do not

The easiest way for you to get it back to English would be to restore it back to factory settings. First, you should back up all of the stuff that you have on the ipod as restoring it will erase everything off of it. Then go into itunes and go to the ipods main page where memory information is. There should be right under the picture of the ipod 2 boxes, one saying check for updates and the other saying restore to factory settings. Click that one and after it finishes, it should be back in English.

Can't remember password

I had the same problem. And I coudn't remember my SCREEN LOCK Password as your son. So what I did was I just disconnecteed my IPOD while it was connected to itunes without properly ejecting. This method doesn't retrieve or resets the password, it justs opens your ipod out of the screen lock. so your son can hear his music as usual until he can get a password retreive helper.
