Question about Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000ES Front Load Washer

Frigidaire affinity atf7000es1 E41 code

Followed frigiaire troubleshooting chat test 6, had 120v at black wire on J2 of control, replaced control same code persists. Could it be the door lock/switch with good voltage?

Yes the door strike is fine. I had already changed the control and was contesting frigidaire's one point troubleshooting chart test six for this machine. The question was about the possibility of the door lock asm being bad eventhough their troubleshooting clearly indicates the control.

I've replaced the door switch/ lock unit and the catch. The washer now has an E56 error code. the motor spins freely and I checked the Olms and only had a reading on the 1 to 2 pins. The manual says to replace the motor, but doesn't seem right? Prior to replacing the door lock assembly I had an E41 and after that an E46 but that code no longer comes up

Front load frigidaire gallery series gltf2940fe1 error code e41. Everything light up but door will not lock to start cycle.

The E41 error means exactly what you experienced. The door isn't locking (or the computer doesn't get the door locked message). Since the door was closed, you either have a problem with the control board or the door strike plate and door lock switch. Take off the J2 plug from the control board and check for continuity between the black wire and ground. If you see 120V, then replace the console control board. If the circuit gives an open, then check the strike plate. If that's bad, replace it. Otherwise replace the switch. has some of the parts. The door latch is part 8 on the cabinet diagram.

Occasionally, the error is triggered by water in the drain motor You should also check the drain motor/pump for any blockages. Note: if there is water in this area, you'll need some towels to control the water.

I hope this helps.

I appreciate your post, Trent!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire washer is displaying an error code of E41 and the door is locked and will not open. An E41 error code means that your main control board thinks the door is open. I would recommend performing a reset on your washer and you can do that by disconnecting power from your washer for at least ten minutes. If that does not help correct your issue it could be a possible problem with your door lock assembly, control panel, or wiring harness. You may need to seek assistance from a professional technician to avoid unnecessary part purchases. I hope this is helpful to you. -Matt

Error code e41

Hello phrainer3 - Error code E41 indicates that the main control board thinks the door switch is open. Contact a professional to check the continuity between the pins in the plug and door strike. The unit either has a defective door switch assembly or main control board.

Code e41

You have a communication error. 1. Is the loading door closed? No, close the door. Yes, go to step(2).2. Disconnect the plug from J2 on the Main Control Board and check forcontinuity between the pins in the plug. Open, check the door strike. If good, replace the door switch assembly. Closed, replace the Main Control Board.

Frigidaire E41 error

I used this forum to get ideas on my washer problem.
After reading through several posts I looked for the manual that was indeed taped inside the back panel, on the left side of the washer.

Reading through it I checked the error code and had E43 at first. This was bad because it meant the control panel needed replacing.

I reset the codes and ran the diagnostic tests and a new code of E41 appeared. As I suspected the door switch from the start; I took it apart to find the center contact was not making the connection complete once the relay locked the door.

With a small file I cleaned up that contact (as well as the other two near the relay) and bent it slightly upward. This allowed it to make contact with the upper center contact again.

I believe it gets bent from many door closings and perhaps slamming it closed.

I only suggest this procedure to experienced persons.

Ensure the power cord is unplugged before any screw is removed.

As suggested with the voltage check there was not 120v at the black wire on J2.

This is why I dissected the door switch.

Or if you prefer you can order a new one for $65- at:

Hope this helps.

E41 Control board thinks the door switch is open.

In the J2 plug on the control, measure voltage from the black wire to ground with power on.

0 volts. Check the door strike. If good, replace the door switch assembly.

120 volts. Replace the control board.

Frigidaire Affinity washer (LAFW3511KW0) with an E41 error. I have unplugged to reset (no change), checked the stricker (fine), removed outer seal and disconnected and reattached (I also received an E41...

Install the door lock/switch assembly with the door switch harness disconnected but "jumped". Jump a wire between the wire harness terminals and if the error code (E41) stops appearing when the machine is started, the door lock/switch assembly is indeed faulty and needs to be replaced.

Check the continuity of the door switch harness connecting the switch and terminal J2 of of the control board if the error code (E41) still appears every time the machine is started after putting a jumper wire between the door switch harness terminals.

Make sure the connectors are clean and snugly connected to both. Replace the wire harness if you are skeptical about its condition. Disconnecting the door switch wire harness (J2) from the control board and putting a jumper wire between the leads of terminal J2 on the control board will directly confirm the condition of the wire harness and the board itself. The wire harness is the problem and must be replaced if the error code E41 stops appearing. On the other hand, consider replacing the control board if the error code still flashes even when the leads of terminal J2 on the board is shorted ("jumped").

PAU error code comes on when iI test it it shows e41 door lock

Hello, welcome to FixYa

Based on the info you provided, specifically the E41 error, It sounds like the unit is detecting an unlocked door, loose wire, or the control itself is bad. (E41= Shorted or open. Defective door lock assembly.Around 1500Ohms. Defective control board.)

The PAU simply indicates the control thinks it has been paused...that may be just a side affect of the door lock assembly.

Here's how to check...

**Unplug the unit from the wall first**

Remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC. Should get a reading of around 1500ohms.

Attached here is a great tutorial for accessing the assembly for testing and replacing.

Let me know if you need further assistance going forward or if anything is not clear.

Thank's again for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.
