Often, it occurs due to a misaligned lens.
If your camera is still under warranty, the best thing you can do is to take it to the nearest official Canon repair shop and Canon should fix it for free.

You have pressed the button only half way, press it down all the way

Pressing HalfwayPressing halfway automatically sets the exposure, focus and white balance.
The indicators light or blink as follows.
Upper Indicator
" Green: Metering complete (two beeps sound)
" Orange: Flash will fire
" Blinking Orange: Camera shake warning / Insufficient exposure
Lower Indicator
" Yellow: Macro Mode / Manual Focus
" Blinking Yellow: Focusing difficulty* (single beep sounds)
* When the indicator blinks yellow, lock the focus before shooting.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, pls try:

  • remove the battery from the camera for a considerable period of time;
  • clean the battery terminals. In some instances, it may be necessary to scrape off corrosion build-up;
  • in some others, it may be necessary to bend (or stretch) the terminals a bit. This is to ensure that these terminals present a strong contact to the battery when eventually inserted;
  • on insertion of the battery, ensure that the lens can move freely and no obstruction;
  • in some remote instances of lens not moving, they may have to be jarred back into action but thumping the bottom of the camera against the palm of one's hand or against the pages of an open book;
  • of course, the best course of action is to consul an authorized service personnel or seek the services of a qualified professional.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Hi,I would suggest you to first trying switching off your device for 5 minutes. This restores and refreshes the device. Go for it
Let me know if this works, if it doesn’t then I’ll provide some other alternative solution.
Thanks

Canon powershot sx10 cannot download

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as iPhoto.

How to delete pictures from the camera?

There are two options to delete pictures from your camera:

1. You can delete the picture with the camera itself:
  • On the back of your camera, move the switch down from the red camera symbol to the green arrow symbol.
  • On the top of your camera, press the POWER button.
  • Using the left and right arrow keys on the back of your camera, move through your photos to select the first photo you want to delete.
  • On the back of your camera, press MENU/OK.
  • Using the arrow key pointing up, select FRAME and then press MENU/OK.
  • You will now see, on your screen, the words ERASE OK? Press MENU/OK.
  • The camera will automatically ask you if you want to erase the next photo. If you do, press MENU/OK, but if you don't, press the BACK button.
2. The best option is to connect your digital camera to the computer via a USB cable. Once your camera is being detected open the photo folder and select all the pictures and hit the Delete key.

SD550 camera not focusing correctly. Green focus square sometimes shows up, sometimes not, either way, it's not clear even on the digital screen prior to taking the shot. Camera does make a slight click...

to make the green square show up just press the shutter button until half (this is called the half press) when the green square shows up then it means that the camera has focused already, if not repeat the process til green square comes out you can press the shutter button fully to take picture when you see the green square...
