Question about Samsung CLP-600N Laser Printer

1 Answer

I have a Samsung CLP-600N. When I try to print I get a Paper Jam Tray 1. There is no paper jam. The paper is not feeding. I tried to hold up the Sensor arm and tried to print again. The feed does not engage. I beleive the Sensor may be bad. How do I replace it?

Hmcoul,

In my experience, very rearly is the sensor bad, the sensor is a simple optical sensor activated by a flag. All this sensor does is indicate if there is paper in the tray or not. The most likely problem is that your paper feed roller,(the rubber roller at the back of the printer in the paper tray area) is embedded with paper dust as is very comon on these units. try getting some water or even better still some eucalyptus oil and clean the roller. try to print again and see waht happens.

There are a number of things that may be the cause of your problems. The first is that the clutch solionoid that controlls the paper feed mechinism is failing, this could be because of the soiloniod itself or the control board that activates it. The second thing could be the control board. The engine control board is a secondary board that basically controls everything in the printer. The third thing is the paper pickup assembly. this includes the entire mechinism that picks up the paper and in a series of gears and shafts. Unlikely to be this unless the gears are seized and you hear a loud noise when you try to print. If it was your sensor than it would simply keep saying that it is out of paper. As this is not happening it is not going to be the sensor.

My paper starts to print but stops half way through and causes a jam???? what part do I need to get??

Might be the same problem that we see on the CLP 310s. Bad exit sensor. Go to YouTube and watch this video: 5fJHykzkfww

You can get the part on eBay for about $10 and it's a fairly simple 15 minute fix.

Not picking up paper

Most new printers and copiers will attempt to feed paper several times before failing and giving a jam condition. It sounds like that is what is happening to your printer.

Your tray rollers may be dirty. Remove the tray and use a clean cloth with mild detergent to clean the rubber rollers. Do not use alcohol this will dry the rollers out. If problem continues replace the tray rollers.

Sencor problem

Pull the paper tray out and look inside. You'll see the feed roller. It needs to be cleaned with alcohol or water.Usually, paper dust on the roller causing it to loose friction and it starts slipping during paper feed, and printer jams.

Paper jams. Printer was cleaned, but it still jams.

Whare does the paper jam at?
It may be a fuser problem.

start a print from tray 1/manual feed and just as the trailing edge of paper is entering the machine; quickly open it to stop print and take out the cartridge and look at it's drum and the paper underneath. If the issue is there at that point then it would point to the cartridge. if not then the fuser

Let me know..
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Paper jam in tray 1

Hi glenpcr,

I had the same problem and solved it.
At my printer it was a problem of the MP-tray (multi purpose tray).
There are two hinges which keep the open MP-tray in a horizontal position. One of this hinges was broken and I just received it.
Just try it.

Stephan

Paper Jam in CLP-550

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Paper jam

I too have this infuriating problem and the reason has already been pinpointed very well it is indeed the front rubber pinch cam not grabbing the paper well. I have approached this problem from another angle... under the front sprung loaded flap on the paper tray
there are two compression springsapprx 1/2" in dia. Gently prise apart the 2 flap pivot (on the extended arms) to gain access to the springs ,pull out the springs and either replace them with slightly stronger ones or pull the existing springs apart to retension them and pop them back (long-nosed pliers or tweezers) this will restore the spring tension lost during use with the rubber pinch cam.
