Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera

Trouble downloading pictures

I have had my camera for a couple years now, and have never had an issue loading pictures from my camera onto my computer. Today, I plugged in the USB as usual and my computer said the 'usb device not recognized.' Therefore, I cannot load pictures at all. I don't have any idea why this has happened, I was able to perform the task like normal a week ago. The only thing I can think that has changed is that I installed Adobe Creative Suite 2 since the last time I used my camera with my computer. Could this be the problem? I really just need a solution, because using my camera with my computer is crucial for my schoolwork. thanks.

My camera worked perfectly fine 2 weeks ago and out of the blue now says USB device not recognized. Tried updating software, and the driver- tried uninstalling and reinstalling NO LUCK. Still trying to find a solution.

I tried using a different USB Cable for my camera. That fixed the problem.

When you have a digital camera which is known to work (worked recently and/or works on another computer) and it stops downloading to your system the problem is usually related to the recent installation of some device or software which uses digital imaging (scanners, all-in-one printers or fax machines). Software products which work with digital imaging can also do this, some examples might be from the Adobe suites. The digital camera initially used the Windows default USB driver for digital imaging devices and worked properly. When the new hardware or software was installed this driver was replaced by the version which came with the product. This is a bit complicated for an email solution but I will try to summarize how to correct this.
Attach the camera via USB cable and turn it on. Windows will issue the device not recognized message. Go to Control Pannel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and look for the item (it will have a yellow indicator on it). If this is the case, insert your camera install disk (or download and unzip your driver from camera mfgr into a known folder). Left click the item in yellow under device manager. Click on update driver and let it find the correct one or point it at the folder where correct driver resides. There are many issues/variants to this too complex to address in a post. Good Luck

I would suspect though that it is actually the camera itself. If it is, then your cheapest option (assuming the camera is out of warranty and would require payment for repair) is to get a separate card reader device to plug into the computer, remove the memory device from the camera and read the files off the card reader.

Can,t download my pictures

Hold down the 'info' key and the +magnify buttons for a few moments. Make sure you are using a real SDcard and not some counterfeit junk. If you only paid a couple of $$ for it it is most likely a fake. They don't format properly, and tend to fail quickly.
It does sound to me like a SDcard format issue.
