Question about Maytag MMV5000 Microwave Oven
When the start button is pressed, the cavity light does not turn on, but turn table goes and food cooks. There is also a lot of noise from lower back right, facing microwave. The cooking process does not sound normal. When door is open, the cavity light turns on though. Any help with home repairs? I can swap parts pretty easily, just need to know which ones to swap. Thanks, Victor.
The wiring diagram indicates that there is a cavity lamp switch on this model. It should be under the control panel or somewhere else on the underside of the oven. The noise you describe could indicate trouble with the fan or the magnetron, etc. If you could describe it in more detail we may be able to offer more advice.
