SOURCE: divx greek subtitles

look in the menu and try to change the encoding, There should be 3 options, Unicode, Cyrilic & Greek. Select greek if the .sub or .srt file is in ANSI encoding, or select Unicode if the file is in UTF-8 or Unicode encoding.

To find out the encoding of an .srt file the simpliest thing to do is open them with notepad and got to "File" -> "Save as", The encoding should appear in the bottom of the dialog.

SOURCE: jvc kw-avx800 divx upgrade

go to ur settings. you will find a divx code. with that code you have to log on to the internet and sign up. with that code you enter it (following the instructions) then you will recieve the update, with that update it will ask you to save it to disc or removable storage device. once saved, plug it into ur jvx deck and it should update automatically.

Burnt dvds read as blank. Sometimes work, but usually don't. can go either way with the same dvd at different times. It can and has happened with purchased cd and dvd. Though less likely.

Your Dvd drive is bad, it is not getting the data to burn, the laser that does the writing isn't writing the data to the disc. and option B is also depending on what program you are using to burn the dvd's and cd and following the correct steps. If all is good and you followed the right steps to it, then you need to replace your dvd/cd drive,

I am trying to write to a CD on my Lenovo X61. I

Here's How:
  1. Download Free Easy CD DVD Burner and follow the on-screen directions to install the software.
Note: Free Easy CD DVD Burner is completely free and fully functional. However, there are some accompanying programs that it asks you to install - feel free to decline those if you're not interested. Free Easy CD DVD Burner supports Windows 7, Vista, XP, and 2000.
  2. Insert a blank CD or DVD in your drive.
  3. Open the Free Easy CD DVD Burner program.
  4. Click on the Copy CD/DVD button on the tool bar at the top of the program window.
  5. Under the Action menu on the left, click the Burn an image file link.
  6. When the Select the image file that you want to burn window opens, locate and select the ISO file you wish to burn to the empty disc and then click Open.
  7. A dialog box will appear asking "Do you want to burn [your chosen ISO file]?".
    Click OK to confirm.
The burning process will automatically begin. The time it takes to burn will depend on the size of the ISO file and the speed of both your PC and your CD or DVD burner.
  8. When the burning is complete, the CD or DVD will automatically eject from the drive. You can remove the disc and close Free Easy CD DVD Burner.
  9. If you view the contents of the disc, you might notice many files and folders. So what happened to the ISO file? Remember that the ISO file is just an image of what should be on the CD or DVD. That ISO file contained the information for all of the files you see on the disc.
Tips:
  1. You must have a CD or DVD burner to write ISO files to CDs or DVDs. You will not be able to burn ISO files if you only have a standard CD or DVD drive.
  2. Many ISO files, like some memory testing programs and password recovery tools, are intended to be booted from after they are burned.

Will not charge battery, have bought new battery, continues to go into not charging mode. Gateway model MA7 charger output 19.27v confirmed

If you are not getting any thing when just the charger is plugged in and either no battery or the battery is dead, but the system will run on a fully charged battery. There may be a problem with the motherboard that a DC jack replacement will not help.. some of the traces sandwiched in the mid-plain on the mother board might have corroded away and need to be bypassed .. check my blog for pictures on how this can be done. http://cegeekbook.blogspot.com/2010/07/gateway-ma7-mx6930-no-power-will-not.html

How to replace Gateway MA7 ML6232 DVD Rom

If you already have the DVD drive then there should be a screw on the bottom of the unit that holds it in. Before you take out the old one just hold the new one on the bottom and that will give you the location of the screw that holds the DVD in.

Here is a link to your owners manual if you need it. It doen't cover the DVD drive. But the pictures and methods may help

http://support.gateway.com/s/Manuals/Mobile/8512488.pdf

If you do not yet have a drive, I found one on ebay, at the following link.

DVD BURNING : TAKES TOO MUCH TIME AND CPU USAGE GOES TO 60%

Based on the laptop model you have listed, I am afraid to say that there is not much that you can do about the time it takes to burn DVDs. Computers often come with re-writeable (RW) drives that have different speeds. Thus, on older laptops or desktops, the drives are very often slow and will take a large amount of time to burn a full DVD. As for the CPU usage, writing data from a hard drive to a DVD or a CD is a very memory and performance heavy task, especially on older computers. You can attempt to free up resources by closing as many non-essential programs as possible prior to burning a DVD... but that will not dramatically increase the speed. Not using the laptop for other purposes while it is burning a disc may also speed up the process.
