Same problem. It appears that the bobbin holder is sliding to the right and getting hung up on it. Any ideas to stop this?

I'm having trouble properly threading my Elna 1010. Could you please help? The bobbin thread keeps bunching up and breaking

bunching of thread under the material is an indication of insufficient tension of the needle thread
increase the needle tension until the threads meet at the center of the materialbeing sewn

Why do my top thread keep breaking

Basic Tips for All
  1. Always turn the handwheel TOWARDS you (counter clockwise) as turning it in the opposite direction (away from you, clockwise) may knock the timing out requiring repair from a service center.
  2. Always be sure your presser foot is in the DOWN position before sewing. Sewing with the presser foot in the up position will cause your thread to tangle and your bobbin to jam.
  3. Change needles regularly (after 16 hours of use) as dull/weak needles can cause damage to your machine and fabric. Only use SINGER needles on your SINGER sewing machine.
  4. Always be sure you are using the correct bobbin for your machine. Class 66, Class 15 and Class 15J bobbins look very similar. However, using the incorrect bobbin class in your machine can cause damage.

I was in the middle of a project. This keeps happening, the thread & bobbin won't allow me to make a single stich. I've tried to take the bobbin out, rethread it, and rethread the top. Can anyone help

How do i keep the thread from gathering on the underside of the material The thread bunches and breaks. thought it might be the tension but can't seem to fix. I cleaned the bobbin areas.

Hello,
Here are some solutions for you to try.

* Re-thread your machine, it may be threaded incorrectly.

* Raise your feed dogs if your machine has this feature.

* When you start to sew a seam, hold onto the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting caught in your machine.

I hope this helps.

The thread keeps bunching up under the fabric while sewing

Try taking out your bobbin and upper thread and rethread and check tension. Thread may be caught down below or lint.

Try a different bobbin. Look for one that is a little narrower. I had the same problem and changing to a narrower bobbin fixed it.
