Re: PROBLEM IN PEN DRIVE
"limitation is that flash memory has a finite number of erase-write
cycles. Most commercially available flash products are guaranteed to
withstand around 100,000 write-erase-cycles, before the wear begins to
deteriorate the integrity of the storage" This means that your flash card may have been damaged by not removing correctly Flash card are not that reliable AS previous pen drives

Windows XP should be able to automatically detect and install it. Try using it
on another computer that has either Windows XP, Vista , or Windows 7 on
it. If it doesn't automatically detect and install it on that one then
the flashdrive is dead.
Retrieving a forgotten password on a Cruzer Enterprise drive
How do I recover the password on my Cruzer Enterprise drive?
Password hint If you set a hint when you enabled the password protection, click Hint in the log in window to display the hint you entered. If you did not set a hint or still can not remember your password, you can click Forgot Password on the logon window and choose a new password. This will reformat the drive. Reformatting will delete all files and applications in the user-accessible removable partition.
Password attempts There is a limit of 10 attempts (default) before the drive is locked and no further access is possible. During this process, you MUST change the password and reformat the drive. This is an important security feature, protecting data in lost devices from brute force hacking attempts. Reformatting will delete all files and applications in the user-accessible removable partition.
Cruzer Enterprise drive managed by CMC (Central Management and Control) A drive managed by the Cruzer Enterprise CMC software can be unlocked remotely by the System Administrator when it is inserted into an online computer. The System Administrator can unlock the drive remotely even after the maximum failed password attempts has been reached. The user must then choose a new password. Data stored in the removable partition will be preserved.
If the device is managed but in an offline computer, the System Administrator can send the user a one-time unlock code. The user must enter the code then choose a new password. The existing data on the removable partition will be preserved. hope this helps
if this is only happening on 1 usb port, there is a short in that port that is causing you PC to shut down. Your motherboard BIOS is probably set to reboot on power loss which means it will boot right back up if it shorts out.
If it happens on every USB port then your pen drive is faulty and I would refrain from inserting it anymore before you damage your hardware.
If the pen drive works on someone elses computer, then it sounds like the SOUTHBRIDGE chip (chip on motherboard that controls USB, PCI slots, firewire ports, etc) is going bad or is faulty.
download the driver if needed ,
if your using Win XP when you
plug your pen drive it should auto
config and you should be able
to click on " My comp" icon
and your pen drive will be labled
