How do I fix a fuzzy picture on my Philips 53" Widescreen Projection HDTV

A fuzzy picture could be almost anything. You may have to dust the three picture tubes. Use a soft paint brush first and then use a LCD cloth wipe to clean. You can find these clothwipes at any super discount store. And you may dust the inside of the screen itself. Try to dust the screen inside without removing it...removing it, will be almost impossible to reinstall! . Donot clean the mirror inside this TV..as it is a thin piece of film..If you must clean use a new feather duster and be gentle, do not use a cleaner! If this does not clear up the picture..you may have a contaminated picture tube..these are not easy to flushout and replace. And yet there may be a small signal module that may need replaced! This is the board that contains all your RCA jacks and RF connections! Hope this will help. Thanks for asking!

Just bought the Samsung 550 Plasma Hd Tv can you tell me if we just use a regular cable from the wall to the Tv will the picture quality be sort of off.. WE have an HM MI cable from the cable box to the TV...

unfortunately cable does not give you the best quality picture and "fuzziness ' is the reduced resolution being displayed on the tv.
the easy way to check the picture quality is to get a decent hd antenna and scan using it for free hdtv signals, if these are also fuzzy, on all channels then the tv has a problem but if it is only on a few lower resolution channels then its just the way it is until everyone is hd 720 or better.

Pictures fuzzy when you look through the viewer.

The viewfinder and the picture lens are totally separate. If it looks fuzzy, and then comes out fuzzy, the capture screen inside needs cleaned. The main lens and viewfinder lenses should be cleaned too.
Get estimates before you say yes to the work. It might be cheaper to buy another camera, unless you can do the work yourself.

Sounds like you need to clean the lenses and reflective area inside your set. It is easy and all you need is a screwdriver, windex and a paper towel. UNPLUG YOUR TV.   Take off your screen and screen protector and safely set them aside.
Clean only the lenses ( glass part) and the reflective mirror type area on the top of the inside of your set.  It will look like new. You need to do this at least once a year.

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become  cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.
