I want to change the resolution on my computer screen to 1280 x 1024

Right click anywhere on your desktop and from the pop up menu select Screen Resolution. It will open the screen for you to adjust the resolution by selecting the pull down arrow at Resolution, it should open a screen with a slider that will allow you to choose a variety of resolutions. (If you are not running a PC with Windows 7 to drive the monitor, you will need a different solution)

Why is the screen balck and flickers?

This is a common indication of a failure in the power supply board. The filter capacitors have died and the power supply can not start up correctly. It should be repairable if you can do a little soldering and replace the bad capacitors on the board. If you reply to this solution with the brand and model I should be able to help you get it going again.

Hi,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since the lines are causing visual display, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself. in other not to complicate issues.
