What kind of monitor is it? What kind of sound is it?

Many companies will let you access and print out their manuals for free online if you input your model and make on their website. Search under "manuals".

Also, the HP w22 LCD I have has internal speakers whose settings and volume levels are controlled through the buttons on the front bottom of the monitor. The monitor has a 'PC Audio In' jack on the back side, which is used to input the digital signal from the back 'audio output' jack of the computer desktop. This HAS to be plugged in with a specific audio cable to power (transmit the digital signal to) the internal speakers.

Check your settings for your external speakers by clicking on 'control panel', then 'hardware', then 'speakers' (IF your computer has located them, meaning that they're plugged in with their driver downloaded). You should be able to configure the speakers and test them for sound.

Windows may have a 'volume mixer' on your taskbar that controls the levels of your Windows application sounds, your device (speaker) sounds, and the Media Player(s).

My monitor keeps turning on and off repeatedly.

The Ballast is most likely bad. It is drawing to much power and kicking out the auto reset circuit. This is not worth repairing.
Sorry for the bad news but it happens to many LCD/LED monitors.

Hooked up New Hp comp (tower only) to slightly new HP2007 monitor but there is no sound.Could you give me an idea of what I missed?

Make sure the audio cable supplied with the monitor is connected correctly. Make sure it is connected to the green (speaker out) jack at the back of tower and the same green (audio in) jack on the monitor. Also make sure the volume on both your PC and monitor is turned up and not muted

Monitor wont come out of sleep mode

One possiblility will be the failing power supply due to bad caps (leaking/bulging tops). You can take a look inside first before making the decison to buy a new one or not.

Speakers not working

I haven't seen a monitor that needs drivers for the speakers.

Assuming it has a standard 3.5mm plug for sound input from the PC, have you plugged this in between monitor and PC?
The monitor will have a volume control, make sure it's not muted or turned down too far.
Also check the volume control panel on the PC to make sure it's not muted or turned down.

Can't get sound on monitor

First make sure that your speaker wire is plugged in to the correct port on your computer.

The speakerwire should be plugged into the green port.

Then make sure that the volume is turned up on your monitor.

Then on your computer.

If this is isolated to only your new monitor and the above solutions do not work there is likely a problem with your new monitor's speakers.

Cheers!

Feedback is appreciated!

The instruction manual should tell you how to get into the menu for the monitor to change the color settingts. With a make and model number I can give you step-by-step instructions on how to change them.

No sound from monitor speakers. Worked fine for 5 years. Can hear sounds when using headphones plugged into CPU. Hope you can help even if only to tell me I need a new monitor. Sincerely Dizzyme.

Hi...there,
First of all, check if your audio cable are still plugged into the monitor and pc output (light green) audio jack. If not just plugged it back in... Still still got no sound... Then turned off the monitor and pc. Unplugged all the cables from the monitor and pc, wait for 10 second till all the surged built up are cleared out. Then you can plugged all the cables back Monitor should have 3 cables, a audio cable, a VGA or DVI cables, and a power cord... OK! now you got all the cables plugged back in...
Turned on the monitor and PC....and a few seconds....you should hear window started. Still... had a problems....just get a external speakers. Have nice day!
