Hi, I have a peculiar problem, I have a LG DVD-ROM 8080B, I used to read DVD's before after a gap of 3 years, I Inserted a DVD, and it does not work/read.
But the main prolem is that it reads CDs but not DVD's, When I insert a DVD, the system gets stuck and it goes on reading. I have checked the drivers, Regional setting . etc. Buy still, it refuses to work.
I hope I get a good solution to this peculiar problem.

There is no quick solution for this problem unless you consider buying a new internal drive quick solution. (They are pretty cheap now a days)

It really sounds like your DVD lens is no longer working, which would cause no problems with reading of your CD's.

Sorry for the bad news, but look on the bright side! You can upgrade to a lightscribe DVD burner!! :D:D (no more sharpies on the DVD/CD's you burn)
