Completely dead. Could it be the fuse and where is it.

I have a sharp model R930AW micro/convection oven. It simply stopped working one day - completely dead. I unplugged the unit and replugged into a outlet that I prechecked to confirm it was hot, still no life at all in the unit. Any thoughts? Fuse?

Please reply back with your brand and model number so we can help you better.

    Is it dead, meaning no
display, no light when you open the door and no beeps when you press a
    pad on the keypad?

    Is the outlet working?

    It
may be the fuse, which is usually located behind the grille or on the
floor of the oven behind the control panel or between the door switches.

    At
our Web site, we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

    If
the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout (TCO)
/ thermal fuse on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body
    of the oven.

If it goes dead for a
    while during or after cooking
then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing
    the magnetron thermostat to open.

    Then when it cools, it
closes the circuit and allows power through again.

    When
checking TCOs or thermostats, if it has a hood fan thermostat,
    that should read
open, as opposed to the others, which should read closed.

    If the cavity thermostat
needs to be checked or replaced you'll need to pull the oven from the
    wall.

    If it went dead almost
immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted
    high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few
seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing
    high-voltage transformer.

    If
it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open
    or close
the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch
    mount.

    If it's intermittent or
random, it may be a bad
connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or
    even an intermittent fuse.

    You should do a
    continuity test on
the fuse while it's in the holder (with the microwave unplugged, of
course) then turn the fuse by hand or take it out and put it back in,
    then test it again.

    If you remove the fuse,
    then press the meter
leads against the ends, it can allow internal contact to be made and
make a bad fuse appear to be good.

    If you or someone you
    know
decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and
disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing
    here on FixYa.

In many brand,s there is a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the
control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is
    very
    helpful

    when troubleshooting & testing.

Maybee, but no.Most microvaves have that problem over a few years because of the heat stress over the fuse and it starts to ware. You can get it fixed by a handyman or a maytag repair man.But are better off buying one for around 60-110 dollars
glad to help

My magtag over-the-range microwave (Mmv4205baq) is completely dead. It's not very old, can it be repaired?

It's probably the internal fuse. You will have to take the microwave down so you can remove the housing to get at the fuse.(I will probably install an accessable panel mounted fuse holder if this ever happens to mine-already did it on the little microwave I carry around on my work truck to heat up my lunch).

Microwave has no power mmv4205aas was working just fine and then just stoped

This is most likely a dead magnetron (microwave production) or a dead transformer.
These are the most expensive bits of a microwave, so unless it is of sentimental value, a new unit is actually cheaper than a professional repair.

My LG microwave went completely dead. I is only 3

under the outer cover, its either a 10-15-or 20 amp ceramic safety fuse avail at most hardware stores, the amp rating is on the side of the fuse, if the new one blows then either the H.V. diode/capacitor or the magnetron can be suspects

My goldstar microwave stoped working. No display, its dead. Is their an internal fuse and where is it located. Thanks

You may have a blown internal fuse. You''ll need to unplug the unit, remove the outside cover and follow the line cord and you should find the fuse.

Replace it with the EXACT same value that was labeled on the original fuse. You'll probably be able to find a replacement at any Radio Shack store or hardware store.

Replace the cover and plug the unit back in. Hopefully nothing was damaged and the unit will play again.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
