If it only happens when it is draining then there is a problem with the pump, could be something fast in it, remove pump and check., or if it is there all the time then it is to do with the motor or the drum..
Remove belt and see if the noise is still there, if it is then it is your motor'

Hello Robert. If you have heard any kind of squeaking or squealing or rattling while the pump was running, replace the pump. You mention a humming noise. Also a sign to replace the pump. When FP pumps fail, they will not spin at the correct speed and that is why when you run it in diag mode you can pump out the water as it runs until you stop it, but will not drain in a normal cycle. Be VERY careful when you replace the pump. Make sure you get no water in the new pump windings when replacing the pump or you will WILL take out the machine controller. Pump p/n is 479595

The spin/drain cycle are leaving the clothes wet after wasing almost all the time.

Hi kerry_coorner,

Drain pump may be clogged. Please follow my below tip on the fix:

ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER...

If this does not help, the drain pump may be faulty.

Kind Regards

I have an 'nec nw452, 4.5 kg' washing machine toward the end of the cycle an OE msg comes up and the water doesnt drain. long beeps???

Check the voltage at the drain pump/valve in the first place. Look from under the washer and use a multimeter carefully in the AC range to find the voltage when the wash is initiated to the drain cycle. If there is no supply the program controller unit is faulty but if there is supply the drain pump/valve is clogged or faulty. remove clean or replace.

Wasing machine stopped begore end of spin cycle half full of water

I dont know what type of machine you have.
It sounds like the pump is the cause of the problem,it has stopped pumping the water.its probably blocked with debris.

GE Profile Harmony Washer has loud squeak when filling

Based on your description, it sounds like the water inlet valve is making noise, since you hear a squeaking noise during the filling of the washer. If it sounds like a constant squeak or squealing noise, i'd say it's caused by either the water inlet valve not being pulled all the way open, or because the water supply shut off valve at the house end isn't open all the way. Try opening the water supply shut off valves all the way open, (check to see that they are).

What is interesting is that the squeaking comes back during the draining of the water. Is this while the tub is spinning or only at the very end of the cycle? Again, it could be the water inlet valve, since the washer will "spray" some fresh water into the washer during the final spin cycle to help remove any soap residue, etc.

The part ins't cheap at around $123.00 for this valve, so unless it's really annoying you to no end, I'd wait for the valve to stop working before getting the repair done, unless you want to do the repair yourself, which isn't difficult, with some basic tools and time.

If you wait and let this go until it fails, you'll notice the water in the tub might not fill all the way for the level set, or the valve will start getting even more as it gets worse.

Here's a drawing that shows your washer and the part I'm talking about.

Water not pumping out in the spin cycle anymore

Check the drain pump and drain hoses. The drain pump is located in front of the motor. To access it, remove the end caps from the console. Remove the 2 screw holding the console to the cabinet. Pull the bottom of the console toward you slightly and flip the console up. Unplug the lid switch molex connector. Inserting a flat screwdriver from the top and pushing back, remove the brass clips on each side. Open the lid. Holding the inside of the cabinet, tilt it toward you and remove it from the base. This will give you access to everything including the drain pump and the drain hoses. Try to remove as much water as possible from the inside since it will all come out when you remove the drain hoses from the pump (hopefully you are near a drain in the floor). Remove the hose clamps and check the hoses and pump for any obstructions. Chances are, you will find a missing sock.
If it all looks clear, remove the drain pump from the motor and inspect where the pump connects to the motor for a broken connection slot. Replace the drain pump if necessary.
Good luck!

Buzzing noise! when the

sounds like you have a problem with the water solenoids (the electronic controlled water valves) the buzzing is an indication that it is trying to open or close and unable to do so. an electric current creates a magnetic field pulling a spring loaded valve sealed inside a tube allowing water to pass. it starts buzzing when it can't pull the valve all the way and just vibrates.

Squeaking Top Load GE Washer

I bought a new GE Washer GTWN5050MWS yesterday. From the first load it squeaked each time the tub moved back and forth (no agitator in the infusion type) It is a quick squeak and kind of resembles a cat getting it's tail under a moving rocking chair. I checked the entire owners manual and it describes several noises and not one of them describes what my new washer is doing. It does not make this sound except for when it is in the wash cycle. Spinning is quiet, and during the agitation of the rinse cycle it is a much more subdued squeak. But during the wash cycle it is not acceptable.

I called GE this morning and they told me it was normal operation for all infuser types of their washer to make this noise. Tomorrow I will be taking it back for a full refund.

We purchased this machine because our 2-year old front loading GE washer broke down (discharge pump I think) and to get it fixed usually takes a couple of weeks. We thought it might be better to have a 2nd washing machine instead of paying the laundry mat. It took a month to get the last one declared unfixable in 2008. Maybe I was wrong. But this is very bad luck to have a brand new washing machine squeak so loud out of the box.
