Question about LG 42LC2D 42 in. LCD HDTV
I just got a tv from a friend (LG) and I have no remote for it. When I turn it on by pressing the power button, it is in stand by mode. I don't know how to reset it or get it off standby without the remote. Can anyone help??
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If your television is going into standby when you are manually pressing the power button, that means your television is in safe mode. Your remote will not help you in most instances when this happens. If you heard a pop of some sort that is not good, if there was no noise then unplug the TV for an hour or so to let it reset it self. If that does not fix it you need some service work done on it.

Did you have any luck? My LG is stuck in demo mode too. Menu button doesn't work, and keylock was on as default so I can't use the buttons on the TV itself.

no solution, yet... our tv is under warranty, and this is the 2nd time we are going to have to have the SAME problem repaired, and they replaced the whole "INSIDE" the first time!!! so, same problem, 2 different panels, must mean somethings going on, you crappy Sony, you! *shaking fist*

Have an LG26Lx1D for about 3 years, dropped off by my son.(Figures).Power light just blinking, but went back to red.Removed back panel, and metal cover. Just above antenna/cable input, its a small fan, mine was full of dirt. Blow off dirt, and make sure its turning freely.
Install back the covers, an voila....its a miracle...its working again.
