Question about Global Product Resources Deco Breeze Byzantine floor fan Table Fan

1 Answer

I just purchased a deco breeze floor fan and put it together. The male plug from the motor and the female end do not appear to match - -female has three small holes much closer together than the male plug -- I am a female myself age 62 - don't know much about these things but it doesn't look to me like it will work (fan was ordered online thru Amazon) Is there a converter plug or something?

I have a harbor breeze aero ceiling fan. I lost the original remote. I have another remote same kind. How do I match up the dip switches

Since this is a low-end store brand, there's no way for me to find out anything about this fan. There's a receiver in the fan or canopy cover that you have to match the frequencies to.

Can i put a dimmer switch on a floor fan? i just bought an industrial-type floor fan, but i don't need that much air movement all the time, how could i wire up a dimmer or potentiometer so that i could...

A potentiometer would overheat because when you tell it to turn the power down, it basically just runs the extra power through a heating element, which will probably catch it on fire for something that large. A dimmer switch changes the voltage that goes in, and is generally meant for incandescent lights. If you wired a regular old dimmer switch up, the motor would probably sound weird, and the dimmer switch or motor would break, possibly starting a fire. It's illegal to use a regular light dimmer switch on anything but an incandescent light socket. However, you can easily find a controller that will work. Look for a fan speed controller or motor speed controller. Make sure it's rated for the correct voltage and has an amp rating not exceeded by the fan's rating. These look like a dimmer switch but are designed to deliver the power the motor needs. See link

Fan keeps cutting off after being taken apart and cleaned

If it was wired wrong it wouldn't run. I would suspect uneven tightening of the motor screws.

Ceaning inside of fan

With a little more detail on how to clean the 84001. There are 2 screws at the top of the unit on the back side and 1 on the bottom with a small removable cover. Remove those screws and the cover can be removed.
There will be some resistance towards the middle because of 2 clips on both sides. Be carefull not to pull too hard on the ends ; possibility of breaking the cover. Try pressing on center of the cover on one side of the edge.
There are 2 screws holding a bracket that holds the top of the fan. Remove those screws. Then on the bottom there is a shaft that attaches to the motor. You will find a set screw that you need to loosen. When you loosen and remove squirrel cage you will notice a flat spot on shaft. That is where the set screw is to be put when assembling the fan back together.
After cleaning just follow the steps back to assemble your 84001 and enjoy a clean brisk breeze. I hope this helps explain in more detail on how to clean it.

Aloha Breeze Tower Fan Will Not Oscillate

yes this is the oscillation motor, and they generally arent servicable, and need to be replaced, you can try and oil it, sometimes they have small air vents, and you can do a voltage test with a voltmeter but I believe the motor has failed or is gummed up, you can try and take it apart, they are held together with bent metal compression areas along the circumfrence of the motor, try sewing machine oil, you might have to do some research to find a replacement motor, maybe take it to a local clock shop, those motors are very close to what they used to put in old wall clocks.

good luck
