Question about Sony KP-61HS10 61" Rear Projection Television
I have a Sony KP-61HS10. I recently moved and made sure not to jostle the tv too much. when i plugged it in the scren was just black with static. then suddenly there was a popping noise (like a fuse blew) the screen flashed red then turned off. i check to see if the fuse was blown and it was not. i then noticed that there was a small amount of black liquid that seeped from somewhere and got on the curcuit board (i have no idea were the luiquid came from) i tried drying the curuit board but still have no picture and tv will not tun on. all i get is a flashing red light on the front panel for the power. when i press it it does nothing. please help!
Hi there, well my friend, this rear projector tv has 3 lenses, one that projects red light, one green light and one blue light. the liquid came from those lenses and it helps the light go tru the space. each one has a sensor and if theres not fluid the tv will protect itself and wont turn on.
i'm not to sure if the fluid made any short circuit between components, because is an oily solution and don't have many conductor properties. (correct me if im wrong) but i suggest if you don't have electronic knowledge or skills, don't attempt to repair it yourself, its hard even for experts to remove all the connectors and will take several time to do it.
