Question about Kodak EasyShare C330 Digital Camera

The flash doesn't work

I don't know if there is a setting for the flash. I never encountered this before. The camera works but without the flash the image is to dark, as if there is no image. What should I try to do.

Very dark video output and view through the view screen, no matter where the ISO dial is set. The Auto, C1 and C2 mode for Photos is just as dark. I can take good pictures only in P (Program) mode, al

This is most often a problem with the imaging sensor and no reset is going to repair the part. Also, if replacing it, it needs to be properly calibrated after installed. If you need help with this, this is the place we recommend for the Canons: www.CamerasAndParts.com They are the best for these models, they only work on Canons and they are excellent for repairs. They have a service package for about $90 which takes care of an image problem as you have or you can try emailing them first. As far as service and the quality of work, I wouldn't go anywhere else but them for a Powershot. They are the best for these cameras. Good luck

Does not flash

It may be switched off. There could also be a break in the wiring to the flash. Without more, there's no way to know.
The first step would be to verify that the flash has not been set to "off" in the flash mode.

Bad indoor pictures. When I take indoor pictures and it says to use the flash I do but then my pictures turn out dark/grey. Then I try it without the flash and they are brighter but then blury. I even...

The flash has a range of up to around 10 feet at the wide end of the zoom, down to 6.5 feet at the tele end. Maybe you are using it on to big a distance or at to low ISO? Try setting the ISO to 800 and see if it helps. images get a bit more grainy at 800 ISO but are also less prone to camera shake, if you use it without the flash. The camera goes as high as 1600 ISO, but images get very grainy at that setting.

Any auto camera like this is going to have trouble in dark light...
Photography is all about light, and in dark situations, compromise as well.

You best chance is to set the ISO up to the highest setting available, use flash, and a faster shutter speed, however, faster shutter speeds means less light can enter the lens, and hence give a darker image. Higher ISO makes the camera more sensitive to light, but produces grainier images as a result. Flash creates artificial light...

The only real way to get good images at a concert in the dark is with a high end camera, a lens costing many thousands of dollars, a tripod or monopod to steady yourself, and a longer open shutter time.

In the meantime however, experiment with higher ISO setting, flash and try to keep your hand steady at all times because the shutter speed needs to be slightly slower for the lens to capture more light.

Try a higher ISO speed (suggest 400). Look in your camera's instruction book to find out how to do this.

Dark image....even using flash.

The problem here is likely the auto setting. Put it to sunny, clear day instead of indoor picture and you should be ok. Also, point it at neutral colored objects when you take the picture and allow it time to adjust by holding the button in partway before depressing it fully.

CANON POWERSHOT A-85 FLASH PROBLEM

Watch the flash,(this might hurt your eyes a bit. If you are getting dark pictures the flash may not actually be firing without you noticing it. It is also possible that the output of the flash is not as high as it should be. This is not very likely though. Either way, since you have tried all posible settings, you are going to have to take it to a shop.
