In addition to the help from the guest, I found that the USB drivers were not properly installed. Working with HP I followed the instruction below to connect to the computer:

To see if your USB calculator driver is installed on your Windows

    1) Click the "START" button
    2) Go to "Settings"
    3) Select "Control Panel"
    4) Open the "System" control panel
    5) Select the "Hardware" tab
    6) Click the "Device Manager" button
    7) Expand the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" group by clicking the
[+] next to the group name.
    8) Turn your calculator on and connect it to your computer using the USB
    9) If the computer already has the USB calculator driver properly
installed, "HPx9G+ DEVICE" should appear under the USB group with a USB
    icon next to it.
    10) If the computer does NOT have the USB calculator driver properly
installed, a device should appear under the USB group with a yellow "!"
    or "?" over the icon.

If your computer does NOT have the USB calculator driver properly

    1) Right-click the calculator device with the "!" or "?" icon and select
    2) Select the "Driver" tab
    3) Click "Update Driver"
    4) Progress through the driver update menus until they ask if you want
to locate the driver yourself. Choose this option.
    5) When the menus ask to to select the driver location, navigate to the:

    C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Conn4x\USBDriver

folder. This is the default location for the USB driver if you have
installed the calculator connectivity software; if you have installed
the software elsewhere, you will need to na
    6) Select the above folder, and continue through the driver installation
    7) If the driver installs correctly, the calculator should show up as
"HPx9G+ DEVICE" with a normal USB icon under the USB group in your
    Device Manager.

I have a HP48G. I connect thru HyperTerm. I bought the SIO cable for the Caclulator, and you have to set the I/O on the calculator. For files transfer I use Kermit. Still using HyperTerm on the Computer.

Works for me.

You have a HP49G, I don't know if it is SIO or USB, I don't see USB support on HyperTerm.

Good Luck

How's the programming going on that? I call it Object Programming.

Try opening the software on your PC. Set the connection to USB and connect your calc. On the calc press the right shift key followed by the right arrow should now recognize the calc.

I'm unable to send to, or receive from, my PC files.

Kermit is a protocol designed to allow two computers to communicate with each other.

The HP 50g is not compatible with Microsoft Word. You can write programs on the 50g, transfer them to the computer, and transfer them back, but you cannot edit them in Word.

There are other PC program that will let you write and edit 50g programs. There are also many communication programs. Take a look here.

You may want to consider getting an SD card (and if necessary, a card reader for your computer). It's a lot easier and faster to transfer data and programs using the SD card than the wired connection.

What is the process to save a document or picture scanned with my HP Deskjet F4280? I am using Microsoft Windows 7. I am unable to install any HP software for this printer/scanner while using Windows 7.

There is no need to install any software for scanning from Windows 7 computer.

It's very easy

On computer click "Start" (windows icon)
click "All Programs"
click "Windows Fax and Scan"
click "Scan" and complete the scan as per on-screen instructions there

Make sure printer is turned on and connected to computer through usb cable properly.

I am unable to connect the device of the printer hp 6310 using the USB cable during the installation . any solution ???

Make sure the printer is plugged into a live power outlet and is turned on.
Disconnect the printer from computer.
Remove all software you installed from the printer from the computer.
Restart the computer.
Install the printer software.
Do not connect the printer until you are prompted by the software.
If nothing is broken this will take care of your problem.

Good luck!

It says that i have to download new software, but dnt know how.

Use the following link to go to
to download specific software for the TI83PLUS (Operating system , Apps or others.)
Use this second link to download the TIConnect software for Windows (if you use Windows). You may already have the latest version on the CD that was with the calculator.

Install the TIconnect software on you computer. Execute TIconnect. Then connect you calculator to the computer with the TISilverLink Cable. Turn calculator on.
Verify that connection is established by clicking the TI Device Explorer icon in the TI connect main window. If it is established, you can Cilck the Update button at the top of the TIconnect Main window. It will update The OS, and the applications that are installed on you calculator.

Later if you go to and find other applications you would like on your calculator, download them on your computer. If you run TIConnect software you will be able to drag an application and drop it on the TIConnect main window and it will be installed on your calculator.

Hope it helps.

My calculator does not connect

I hope your using the silver link cable between your calculator and computer. My computers seems to only work with the black serial link and ti connect. I found a few computers actually download and work with the ti89 or ti 84 graphic link software. Ti Connect Device Explorer works for me but, the graphic link software may work for others.
