Question about Dell UltraSharp 1907FP 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Sad to say, I can't figure out how to physically adjust the hight of the monitor. We just moved, aparently in the packing process, the movers shortened the stand of the monitor to make it easier, and I can't get it back to a normal height. Am I missing a controll is did the potential break it?

I had the same problem here at work, then the solution just came to me...

Push and hold the monitor down (I know its already in the down position, but it can go down slightly further), then push the thin, wide horizontal button in, then you should be able to pull the monitor up to the desired height. Kind of goofy engineering.

Installed AOC 2436vh, top of screen off of physical structure of screen, tried power down, physical reinstall, roll back of driver and reload of cd, how do I uninstall monitor to try again? Or adjust it...

I have the 2436V (no speakers), but I suspect the solution will be similar. My screen was a bit to the left of the monitor's physical display area, and I was able to solve it using the built in menu (If you take too long deciding what menu button to press next, the menu will time out. Just start over if that happens. You will get faster with practice).

1) Press the menu button on the monitor (the menu appears).
2) Press the up button on the monitor 4 times to highlight the icon that looks like a slightly angled screen with yellow cross-hairs in one corner (the toolbar for positioning the screen appears - all 5 icons on the positioning toolbar are blue).
3) Press the menu button on the monitor to "enter" the selected toolbar (one of the toolbar icons turns green to indicate the selected tool on the toolbar).
4) Select the tool you need using the up/down arrow buttons on the monitor (I needed the one that moves the screen horizontally, you need the one that moves the screen vertically).
5) Press the menu button on the monitor to activate the selected tool (the meter above the toolbar icon turns green to indicate the tool is active).
6) Use the up/down buttons on the monitor to position the screen.
7) Press the menu button to exit back out (or, just let the menu time out).

Note: the disk that came with the monitor doesn't seem to have drivers for Windows 7, but allowing Windows to search online while updating the driver found a compatible driver online.

Pictures and type appear elongated and not in proportion. appear to be squeezed together. how do i make adjustment ?

There should be buttons on the front of the monitor which will open up a menu so you can change the horizontal and verticle adjustments. You will first get a menu, figure out how to move within the menu selections, select the horizontal setting and move it move the image more out to the sides, generally done by increasing the number shown for the current adjustment. The move out of horizontal and go to the verticle adjustment to make sure that is correct..

I hope that this information is helpful and helps you go in the right direction to solving your problem.
If this does help, please leave some good feedback for me.
Thanks,

Brian

The view on my monitor is very truncated - about two inches top and bottom are not filled

Press the MENU button on the monitor and adjust the width and height of the picture to full screen.

How to detach the screen from the base.

Here is what I did on my last 2 moves with a 22" LCD.
Just wrap it in soft blanket like velour or a comforter and put it in a box so it doesn't move around. You could take off hte base but usually at risk. Most of those bases clip on and aren't really easy to slide out or meant to take back apart. You risk more damage taking it out apart then just wrapping it securely and putting it in a box.

Height adjust for Dell UltraSharp 1907FP 19" LCD Monitor

Is it stuck, or just not adjustable? Try setting it on a phonebook. I'm kidding. If it is an adjustable base, sometimes they need a little downward pressure before the button will depress and allow it to move upward.

Thanks,

Monitor Adjustment (hardware)

It is usually just a matter of forcing it back. You migh check if there are any kind of handles/knobs to loosen, but there usually isn't. Check if the screen should be lifted up (some bases are kind of telescopic) frmo the bottom position to losen it. Any chance of a picture of the side/back of the monitor?
