Question about Kenmore 63942 Dryer
Just got parts in Thermal Cutoff pack. Not sure which prong the red and black wire need to connect to..how can you tell???
I think that, because this is a fuse, it does not matter which it's connected to. Essentially it closes the circuit between the wires and if it gets too hot, it will 'break' the fuse. In any event, I plugged my black wire to the bottom and the red to the top. I'm not sure what defines top or bottom other than the floor and ceiling of the dryer itself. I searched all over the place for an answer to this, but ended up just going with the fuse logic.
