Re: Changed batteries and now remote won't work
Sometimes if the batter is of expired stock then also it does not work.also try to clean the contacts in the sockets where u insert the battery.if still does not works then its quite possible that the internal circuit of the remote has gone fasulty.so the remote now needs replacement.

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it battery contacts, inside its battery compartment for any rust or dust accumulated, which prevents the electrical contacts. If all are found OK, you remote control need cleaning. To clean it, you have to open it. If you wish to know more details about how to clean and check a remote control, check this link.
It is possible you are using the wrong type of battery. A lot of electronics require you to use either Lithium-Ion or less powerful ones. I had this happen once by putting in batteries that were the right size, but were meant for more powerful devices. If you have a cheap set of the right size batteries laying around that are a different type, try those.
If set turns on with the power button on set the remote is : not set to TV, not programmed for the set, has bad batteries or is bad.
If it even works one function it may need to be reprogrammed or taken apart to see if works---you can test the remote by pointing it at a digital camera with a LCD screen and pressing buttons to see if it makes the screen flash on the camera.
