Question about LG Televison & Video
You need to get an optical cable (not supplied with the system of course!). Will cost about £20. That will fit from the sound system to the TV to give you 5.1 surround (else you're stuck with stereo) and THEN you need HDMI from your DVD to the TV... presuming that's the way you're going. Else it's whatever you output from DVD to the TV and then the TV sees you have optical out and pushes the sound to the 5.1 system.

I have purchased a nearly new Lg tv and Dvd surround system but no manuel with the DVD. I am trying to get tv sound ( works only when watching DVD) through to the surround system but can't figure it out what cable goes where. I have the correct extra cables ( optical and hdmi) .
