Dark Knight freezes in 4th frame with Samsung BD 1400

I have upgraded to the new firmware and I am still having a problem with the dark knight.  It looks like it is going to play and then in the 4th frame after the PG 13 screen comes up the movie freezes and stops reading.  All other movies I have tried seem to work.  Suggestions?????

Dark Night blu-ray doesn't play at all (I have no update on the samsung 1400)

I had the same problem. Within the first 10 minutes the picture would switch to fuzz every 15 seconds. I am taking back this Blu ray player. The Dark Knight and Batman Begins both had the problem. I read a little on the internet and it has something to do with the privacy protection studios are placing on the dics.

Plays dvd, but not blue ray bdp-1400

You could try and update your player's firmware from Samsung. Here is a link http://www.samsung.com/us/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_mdl_cd=&prd_mdl_name=BD-P1400&prd_ia_sub_class_cd=P

You will need to download the firmware file and burn it to a cd-rom using your computer's cd burner then put it into the player. You will need to burn it in raw format and might need a burner program to do it. The player will need firmware upgrades often to be able to play the newer blu-ray movies.

The latest firmware for this unit was released December 2008.The movie you;re having problems with was released May 2009.
Most probably the next firmware will resolve the issue you're having.

Samsung bd-p1400 will not play certain disks

My dark Knight DVD was only playing the first 4 screens and I burned the firmware upgrade to a CD. It took about 20 minutes from the time I inserted it for it to be complete, then it stopped at 4 again but took about 30 seconds and it began to play perfect.

Problem with Wall-e Blue Ray movie

i would say the problems comes from the way the company formatted the movie onto the blu ray discs. and i would say that there will most likely be a recall on them. if anything connect the manufacturer of the movie. hope this helps you.

Appears to turn it's self off,or freeze and go dark.

Go to http://www.samsung.com/us/support/download/supportDown.do?group=&type=&subtype=&model_nm=BD-P1400&language=&cate_type=all&dType=D&mType=FM&vType=&prd_ia_cd=03020100&disp_nm=BD-P1400&model_cd=&menu=download
you have to burn it to a CDROM as an image file, if you just drop it on a CDROM as is, it won't work. Insert it in the player and follow the menu to update the firmware. Takes 30 minutes in 2 steps of 15 minutes each.
I have to say though, after spending a year trying to get a 1400 to work, and multiple firmware upgrades on same, I gave up and bought a Panasonic BD35 which has been flawless on every movie.
