Acer V243H - Flickering and Buzzing

I just bought a monitor that I knew needed work, I got it for 10 bucks. I powered on the Monitor for the first time and got picture, but it flickers and I get horizontal lines across it that flicker, and it makes a slight static-like noise. Any ideas?

Check to make sure the cables are connected tightly. Wiggle the cable, does it get better or worse? Might need a new cable. And reseat the video card inside the computer. If that doesn't fix it, then yes you will probably need a new monitor.

Monitor says no signal

You will need to check that the connection with the computer is firm and also the correct drivers are loaded on the computer.

You can get the driver from this site and install on the computer.
You will have to select the operating system of your computer.

Hope this helps.

My acer x223w lcd monitor is flickering. When I change the resolution to 800 x 600 it stops. I have updated the driver and tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

hi, have you checked running the monitor on all the outputs? dvi? vga? flickering is caused most times by bad connections either in the video cable, or on the video board, or power board inside the monitor. i know those monitors pretty well, i'm willing to bet if you opened up the monitor and looked at the power supply board, you would probably find worn/blown capacitors. this could very well account for the flickering. electrolytic capacitors store power for parts of the circuit that require lots of power to run. when they go bad(overheat) they pop up at the top, sometimes leak a little fluid. they are replaceable, need to be soldered in, and you can find them at most electronic stores abundantly, but you should check everything else first, the video cables(dvi, vga) before opening the monitor.

Gateway monitor flickering

I had an older mac Mini that would do that and could not use it with that monitor. it worked fine with my G5 powerpc, was probably a video card issue. I got it to work also by connecting with a VGA connection rather than a DVI

Screen Flickering on Acer 3680-2682

Ok we must remember when we setup any device on our PC, one of the many non PnP devices is and LCD Monitor, your PC should always be shutdown before installing a new Monitor. If you did not do this you could have damaged the I/O port on your PC. Not a definite, but possible! When you plug up a monitor or any serial cable while the PC is still on, it is of a low voltage which can casue some issues for you! Sounds like this one is yours!

I fixed my AL2021 by replacing the output caps on the power board. $4 repair. Pull the thing apart and replace the 1000uF, 680uF and 470uF caps on the end of the power board.
