Break lights stay on unless I prop the pedal up
Ive got the same issue with mine and ive read about 100 people with the same issues or near identical issues ive replaced the directional flasher relay. ign switch, run separate grounds thinking it was a bad ground replaced the light sockets and put new long life bulbs into them. replaced fuses even though they were all good. only thing left is to run a completely new wiring harness and the car simply is not worth the aggrivation. my advice never buy another chevy/government motors product ever again until they can get their act together and build em like they used to in a fashion which enables pretty much anybody to easily repair them with common tools. total morons for engineering a wiring system in such an irresponsible fashion its no wonder all of their buisness is being taken by foreigners.

SOURCE: break lights stay on
the switch or due to weather the wires might be damaged, but it's a short...you might want to check into getting it to stop stayin on as the brake light lights up with others in a sequence for diagnostic codes and troubleshooting engine problems.....good luck..shia

First check your brake fluid.
Either you have a failing brake booster, or you have developed a leak in one of your brake lines. If your brake line is leaking, it should be pretty evident, i.e. oily looking substance sprayed underneath the vehicle or in the wheel wells, if the booster is leaking (the large black/silver almost bowl shaped thing directly in front of the driver under the hood against the back wall) there will most likely be fluid dripping down the firewall below it, if your brake fluid is extremely low/empty, you probably have a leak, that could be at the booster or on a line, or even at the caliper/drum. If it is empty (which can make your ABS light, light up) then you have yourself a leak. Also, if the fluid is really low, you could try adding some, although you will have air in the lines if it was low enough to floor the brake, but you might be able to find the leak if you refill the fluid and cause it to spray from the leak again. Have someone watch under the vehicle while you do this.

te brake warning ligt will come on for one of tree reasons # te emergency brake is on or connection for E-brake3 is grounded.#you are low on brake fluid indicating a leak.#3 you ave a bad speed senspor or bearing throwing a code for the abs system wic will also turn a brake ligt on if te fuse blew.
