Make sure this keyboard is compatible with the new system.
I would check especially if your system is vista.I'm sure it was setup to use the new keyboard
do you have software for the old keyboard

I have kb-0817 gateway keyboard where can I find a pdf file owners manual for the keyboard?

Anything with an F on it has to be used in conjunction with the depression of the Fn key in unison. Anything else will be controlled by either the shift in unison or with the control key in unison with the desired key.

How do i hook up speakers? the light on the speaker is green and when i plug them in i get some pop up asking what device i plugges in.. in and out, line, mic, headphones.. help

you will need to connect your speakers to your computer then you will need to install them to your computer
usually at the back of a desktop computer there is three input plugs blue green pink/red or a usb connection depending on your speakers on a laptop usually a usb connection
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it or select audio from the microphone drop down list make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or select the voice tab and make sure that you have the right media selected also select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it
also click start control panel sounds and audio devices then select voice then select volume from the microphone you can increase the volume or you can test your hardware in XP in W 7 click start control panel hardware and sound manage audio devices recording right click on microphone you can configure speech recognition
or you might have to boost

How to reattach the F12 key on my Sony Vaio laptop. My cat scratched my F12 key off of the laptop. There is a little white plastic square frame loose on top of the key.Pressing the key pad down on top of...

Sounds like the cat did more then just damage the F12 key. If the plastic connectors underneath the F12 are damaged or the white tactile is damaged then they keyboard is done in that aspect. What worries me more is that the right hand side of the keyboard is not usable.

What needs to happen is the keyboard needs to be taken out and reseated back into its slot on the motherboard and see if you can use all of the keys again minus the F12.

If you can then use the keyboard until you can get another one.

If you get the same results (not being able to use the right hand side of the keyboard) then the keyboard is bad and would need to be replaced ASAP or you can use an external usb keyboard for now.

Logitech cordless desk top MX3000

Hi: Just got off the phone with a Jason at Logitech Customer Service. The "locked" keyboard after battery replacement is a known error/bug with the MX 3200 and 1 other keyboard they make. The solution is very easy (amazing). If you have NOT installed the Logitech Setpoint software that manages all the extra buttons on the keyboard,
Do This:
Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "F12",
Then the "Connect" button on the USB RECEIVER,
Then press the red "Connect" button on the back of the keyboard,
Then Press "esc"
That will do it.
The keyboard goes into the encrypted mode with battery change. Perhaps changing batteries one at a time, like they suggest to keep the LCD settings will avoid this?

If you have already installed the Setpoint Software, then pressing Ctrl, Alt, F12 will pop-up a box asking if you want to come out of encryption mode, I'm told.

Good luck,

Rob

I had this problem for a very long time as well. Turns out this is an encryption issue. It's off-balance. You need to reset the encryption, and here's how:

On the LEFT side of your wireless keyboard press and hold Ctrl+Alt, and press F12, then release all three buttons. Now push the Connect button on your Wireless Receiver, then the connect button on your wireless keyboard. Now press Esc. Try it. See if it works. It did for me.

Wireless keyboard problem

just called Logitech support (who were more than helpful, very friendly, and picked up the phone within 5 minutes).
I have an MX3000 laser combo set and the receiver lost connection to the mouse last week. Then the keyboard went out a few nights ago. I had tried what everyone else here had tried to no avail.
So I decided to give a tech support line the benefit of the doubt and call one...
I'm very glad I did!
Here is the entire process for the Left Ctrl + Left Alt + F12 keys. First, when you hit these keys together, a box should pop up on screen to prompt you to reset the encryption sequence. That is what these keys are for. If nothing pops up on your screen (as was my case!), wait a few minutes for the button sequenece to time out, then hit these keys again. Make sure its L-Ctrl + L-Alt + F12 only. Within 2 seconds after that button combo, hit connect on the receiver. Within 2 seconds of that hit connect on the underside of the keyboard. Within 2 seconds of that, hit your Escape key on the keyboard. Sounds completely ridiculous, but this is the direction Logitech support drove me in. And it worked for me. And this is after I tried everything imaginable for over the past week.
We then moved on to the mouse, which i thought we had fixed. But now i have one working and one not working, so I think I need to re-run through this whole process to fix the second mouse. Basically, I now have 1 mouse that works on both receivers, on 2 different pc's with 2 different keyboards in two different rooms (both sets are MX3000 however).
The other now seems to have lost the signal. Will update if I get that second mouse to play nicely with me.
Hope this helps anyone about to trash a perfectly good unit like I was!
