Hello. I have an older model Cuisinart food processor in which the center "stick" has broken. Is this something that can be replaced or do I need to get a new machine.

You can send it in to Cuisinart for repair, but it will cost about $140, give or take - about the same as a new processor. Don't throw that old thing away, though - sell it on eBay for collectors like me.
