My printer is printing faded

My printer is printing faded looking documents. The black is grey with white lines going through it and the colors are very dull. I thought it was due to low ink, so I went out and purchased new ink and it is still doing the same thing. I have tried the maintenence, and Nothing changed. I have only had the printer for about 4 months.

It is possable it needs a head clean. what make and model is it.
If the clean has failed to wirk, it might be that the head is faulty.
Are you using genuine ink cartridges, if not this could be the reason why.
