Question about Admiral AAV7000A

1 Answer

Doesn't fill all the way

I have an admiral AAV7000A top load washer, it is about 3 years old. Lately it has only been filling half way and just keeps filling although the water level will stay where it is at, I cannot run it on medium or large loads it only runs the cycle on mini loads. Otherwise the water will just keep running and draining and it won't go through the cycle. We recently had a plumber in here to unclog the drain that the washer hose was in.

The solution to the problem was....a few days before we noticed the washer was not filling all the way, the plumber had come over to clear our pipe, because it was not draining. He had tightened the clamp we were using to keep the pipe in place too tightly, it was air tight and it was creating a vacuum and siphoning the water out when it got to a certain level. We took the clamp off since there was no longer a need for it and the washer fills up and drains as it should.

Washer will not fill up!

The water is siphoning out as it fills. Your drain hose is too low or has a air block. Remove the drain hose from the drain. Set the washer to fill. Hold the drain hose up higher than the washer. If it fills correctly and starts agitating, correct the drain hose problem.

Nothing happens

Remove the fill hoses from the back of the washer and check the inlet valve screens/filters for build up or blockage . If that doesn't work you may need to replace the inlet valve.

Washer fills up only half way but water keeps trying to fill tub

That is because the water level switch get stuck when water level reaches that particular point.

The water level switch is activated either by a floater sensor or by a membrane sensor that detects water pressure/volume, depending on the model.
On washing machines it is usually a membrane switch, and that is faulty on your machine.

My admiral capacity plus washer does not stop filling with water. What would the problem be

I had this happen last year to mine. Check the hose that goes to water level adjustment switch. It may have a hole or crack in it. It may be small and hard to find but if there are any leaks in this hose the switch cannot sense the water level because it works on pressure through the hose to the diaphragm on the switch. You will need to remove the top panel of the washer to access this. I was able to replace the hose with some I had on hand. Saved me big $$$!

Have an Admiral AAV8000 that does not stop

Sounds like you have a mechanical failure and the timer keeps advancing because the cam contact for the timer motor has to be manually shut down. Your timer is part 21001929

Admiral Top load washer won't agitate and squeals

Sounds like the gearbox, unfortunatly this is sealed and is cheaper to replace the machine, presume the machine is quite old.
